Re: BasiliskII for Linux - Problem with PulseAudio
Just to recapture: I am running B-II v1.1 by Christian Bauer under chortt'ed Debian 64bit Linux on an Android ARM tablet. Because Android doesn't allow chroot'ed processes direct access to the Audio device (sharing is caring, which means Android prohibits any user process to lay exclusive claim to A...

Re: BasiliskII for Linux
I need some help here with the audio device. Several programs like e.g. Sound Sculptor II (https://macintoshgarden.org/apps/soundsculptor-ii) work fine until they issue some call to the audio device, which causes them to terminate with "error code 12". Now MTT from the MacGarden found out ...

@Ronald - I wanted to know the *absolute* max. memory configuration known to run stable with B-II, please.

Re: BasiliskII for Linux
@kanjitalk755 - You are right, it was my bad. The content of that Debian version file is an artefact from an attempt I had made to resolve certain issues with a previous B-II built. Once that didn't work out I had removed thes beta repos and uninstalled those files again. This has been my repo list ...

Re: BasiliskII for Linux
I couldn't find any installable packages for Arm64, but I got no problem compiling from source. Were the memory management issues resolved? I had to stick with "banked mode" to avoid crashing all the time - its the most stable but also the slowest of them all.

Re: QEMU 68k for Termux help
So i was planning to emulate A/UX via QEMU on Termux. But i'm always stuck in a white screen. Help? I'd advise against compiling large projects on Termux. It was never intended to be 100% compatible to any known distro and many people mistake it for a Debian build (because of the included apt tool ...

Re: The Quadra 800 coming to Qemu
Thanks for all the hard work on this thing, but the wait is taking a toll. I just can't get passed the B-II SIGSEV issue on Arm64 and Arm-Qemu works out of the box for any platform but 68k. Feels like getting cursed just because I turned away from WIntel. Really everyone is still primarly developing...

Re: The Quadra 800 coming to Qemu
The Qemu-PPC comes as a compiled binary from the official repo. But I have no clue how Mac conpatible it is and I got no PPC boot media anyway. But most important: I don't want to loose precious time messing around with that unless I can get a system out of it that runs smooth, stable and is perform...

make terminated with error 1 on rules.mak:89 (disas/arm-a64.0)
Looks to me like this thing could still use a good deal of tweaking.
Could it be that this thing is mainly meant to run on Intel/AMD host systems?

Re: The Quadra 800 coming to Qemu
I got my qemu build from Debian bullseye and had to github the 68k module directly from the author's repo. It all compiled OK but as I wrote I only get a blank screen and a CPU core on the host side that is *completly* maxed out. Given that I got to ask the question if this is even worth the wait fo...

Re: The Quadra 800 coming to Qemu
That's what I get on Arm64 as a host system. Any progress in sight on this one?Current public status: start-up sound and grey screen
PS: The darn thing eats up an entire CPU core just sitting there (utilization 93%) - that is *abysmal* compared to B-II.
Is it supposed to be *that* bad?

Well, it obviously doesn't allow it by default as SIGSEV causes B-II program termination on my system despite the setting in the prefs file.

Any suggestion how to accomplish that?

ignoresegv on ARM64
Hello,
I just discovered in the Readme the notice that the option "ignoresegv false" is only implemented on Linux/x86, Linux/ppc and Darwin/ppc.
But I am running B-II on Debian on Arm64, so is there any way that I can compile a binary that honors that option?

Re: BasiliskII for Linux
i figure that something isn't working with the segmentation fault switch. Because many of those crashes I am experiencing don't happen once I reduce the RAM size drastically (even so I got 6GB of RAM to spare on the host). This is what I put in the the prefs file: ignoresegv true Either the syntax i...

I am running on MacOS 8.1 and I put that ignoresegv option in the prefs file as soon as I encountered that sigsev error - but to no avail.
