Re: Full Throttle LucasArts Mac Game in Qemu-system-m68k

Ah, excellent point! I checked my BII emulation and I've got it running with 512 mb, but most of it's not even being used!

Re: Does Wine under Mac OS X count as emulation?

Thanks for the steps, Mabam! And your Icon extraction is a brilliant idea! I just tend to look for custom icons to spruce up application icons like this.

@Adespoton: thanks for that! I hadn't thought of all the layers of emulation; the program is a cross-platform Mac program, so it's more the ...

Re: Does Wine under Mac OS X count as emulation?

You can allow Wine to create a shortcut on your Mac desktop.

Thanks for outlining all the steps for me and others, Mabam! :)

I was going to try what you said but wasn't sure how to go about it (I thought one needed to add a Wine program to the macOS Dock by using a Wine bottling app like ...

Does Wine under Mac OS X count as emulation?

I'm hoping I won't get chewed-out for posting any Wine-related Qs here; it's actually a pretty simple question with a hopefully easy answer?

I found Wine for Mac that runs 32 bit Windows applications on 64 bit only Macs here:

Re: Full Throttle LucasArts Mac Game in Qemu-system-m68k

You can also run it with VM enabled under Mac OS 9 if you set memory to 1022MB -- Virtual Memory gets disabled if you have 1024MB or more.

That's such a brilliant move! So this makes all applications need less RAM automatically, right? (and probably a few more benefits IIRC) I wonder if this is ...

Re: AoE II fonts can't be found on Mac OS 9.0.4

As Adespoton pointed out, you may or may not need to keep the game's CD-ROM mounted on your Mac to play it, so I'd definitely try that first. Other than that, when all else fails and I get completely stuck like this, I'll sometimes create a new boot volume and reinstall the OS then the program that ...

Thanks, Adespoton! And yes, all thanks to Emendelson and these truly exceptional 8.1 SheepShaver builds; you have no idea how long I waited for something like this! I detailed the issues with both audio programs to see if perhaps I goofed up something. Plus emendelson includes OtherMenu in all his ...

Re: Which MS Office versions work in SheepShaver?

Office'98/2001 in SheepShaver for macOS both fail to open for me, but SheepShaver for Windows running Mac OS 9.0.4 become more stable w/Office '98 and 2001 by disabling their animated assistants . This works until you close one of the applications, Office 2001 tends to freeze SheepShaver then, and ...

Re: Which MS Office versions work in SheepShaver?

Here are the two Office suites that work in SheepShaver as well as Basilisk II:

· Office 3, released in '92, includes Word 5.1a
· Office 4.2, released in '94, includes Word 6.0

No luck with RustDesk on a Fusion VM running Mojave

Hi all!

I tried running RustDesk 1.4.0 and got several errors on my 2014 mini running Monterey and Fusion 13.5.2 on a Mojave VM:

If anyone is familiar with Terminal output or this scenario, I'd love to get it going like Google Remote Desktop on my VM. Might I need an older version for it to ...
