Re: BeOS PPC on SheepShaver
It won't work because this emulator (along with Basilisk II) is practically like DOSbox for launching Mac OS, so no BeOS, no MkLinux. Lack of support of alternative systems on current emulators is one of reasons I've put proposals of "next-gen" Macintosh emulator (https://www.emaculation.c...

Re: Best presets for Mac emulation?
Nice, but situation would be a bit more complex: 1. I wouldn't tie presets to operating system versions since many versions of System Software/Mac OS can be run by two or more emulators. Sorting by hardware type (like in SoftMac) would be more logical. 2.There are some "white spots": A/UX ...

Re: Some Emulators Online Stuff
I am legit curious about the release of SoftMac he has promised. Darek certainly has the resources to produce an alternative to Basilisk II. If he could just implement the features SoftMac lacks (sound, networking, access to the host's files) we wouldn't need to use an old and not-really-updated em...

Re: [Offer] New 'General' GUI (Beta)
Few revisions later I have still the same problem with COMCTL32.ocx, the only difference is the message now in English.
P.S. I've successfully launched app in Compability mode (Windows XP SP3). My OS: Windows 10 x64

Re: What about an unified Emulator?
As another idea, I think I could use Qemu instead of PearPC, since it runs OS 9 from 9.0 to 9.2, what SheepShaver can't, and it runs OS X 10.0, what PearPC can't, and of course it runs OS X 10.1-10.4. What I wonder is, if does the Qemu m68k emulator runs System Software, I'll test it tomorrow and s...

Re: [Offer] New 'General' GUI (Beta)
That message means that comctl32.ocx is missing. That is an extremely common requirement for older software. See for instance https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/apps_windows_10-winapps-appscat_tools/comctl32ocx-file-missinginvalid-for-windows-10/0d515059-0397-4b72-a39b-120a7be96043?a...

Re: [Offer] New 'General' GUI (Beta)
Hello. I've downloaded your project, but every time I try to launch, the app gives message: "El componente 'COMCTL32.OCX' o uno de sus archivos dependientes no esta registrado correctamente: falta un archivo o no es validado".

Re: What about an unified Emulator?
That sounds fine! And I'd love to make something like that, we must start that project when I'll have in Beta VirtualMac! (Work in progress  ) I'm glad to hear it. Especially because code of most of Mac emulators is a bit outdated. So, once again my proposals on new emulator: 1. The product s...

Apple Legacy Recovery CD doesn't have first version of Lisa Office System. But you can download it here: http://www.bitsavers.org/bits/Apple/Lisa/

Re: What about an unified Emulator?
Hello. I've heard of your idea. It's good, but why not create instead of front-end to existing emulators a whole new emulator that would emulate nearly every Mac (68k and PPC ones)? I've proposed earlier on this forum such idea of emulator which would be based mostly on WinUAE, so it would be able t...

Re: Basilisk II re-write
I'm here to explain suggestion in more details. What new features you desperately want from WinUAE? 1. MMU emulation (as it was required by A/UX and Linux distributions) 2. Full SCSI/IDE emulation (Softmac has it, also SCSI support was in build 142) 3. Since WinUAE can emulate full range of 68k proc...

I was about needed workload. Actually I don't have programming skills, but I've asked if the work on re-writing would be hard.

Basilisk II re-write
Hello, forum. I'm here with an idea (it's not new). Since Basilisk II uses UAE engine to emulate CPU, and development of WinUAE has greatly progressed last few years, I think Basilisk II should be updated and re-based to WinUAE. This would enable advantages such as MMU support (required by A/UX), em...
