Re: Benchmarks : 2021 M1Max not as good as 2015 Core i7 for 68K/PPC emulation?
Accept my apologies, english is not my native tongue. My question was: can we expect any code optimization that could improve speed of BasiliskII/Sheepshaver on M1 Mac? Or is this a stupid question since the BasiliskII/Sheepshaver code already provides the maximum performance that a M1/Pro/Max could...

Thank you for this answer Ronald.
Should I understand speed of Sheepshaver/BasiliskII is not going to be increased by code in the future on M1x CPUs, since any ARM optimization would be broken by any Apple Silicon update?

Benchmarks : 2021 M1Max not as good as 2015 Core i7 for 68K/PPC emulation?
Hi all, I tried a few benchmarks under BasiliskII and Sheepshaver, with the latest universal binaries on a 2021 MacBook Pro 14-inch M1 Max, and compared to a 2015 MacBook Pro 13-inch Core i7 with the same executables and the same MacOS 7/MacOS 9 images. Apparently, the results are really less good o...

Re: Basilisk II on Raspberry Pi : no keycodes file?
Thanks a lot Ronald. First, please accept my apologies ; I realized only afterward that the basiliskII build I was asking about has nothing to do with the forks that are discussing here, on Emaculation. But I am grateful to you because you gave me all the clues to understand - and to solve - the sit...

Re: Basilisk II on Raspberry Pi : no keycodes file?
Many thanks for your reply Ronald, I set my keyboard layout to French/Azerty under the emulated System7, yes. And the host system - so the RetroPie 4.6 distribution based on the Raspbian Buster Linux - is configured for my Azerty layout too (and it works perfectly, for instance in the terminal) The ...

Basilisk II on Raspberry Pi : no keycodes file?
Hi all, Would you, please, tell me how I could use my Azerty keyboard with BasiliskII on the Raspberry Pi, under the RetroPie distribution? Compared to other releases, the BasiliskII for RetroPie/Raspberry Pi doesn't seem to support the famous 'keycodes' file we use on other platforms to recognize i...

Re: SheepShaver Version 2.5, 8 March 2020 broken?
It works!! I mean, the latest Version 2.5, 15 March 2020 you just published works again on my Mac. I seriously don't know why, but many thanks for your efforts! I just put the new executable into my existing directory, double-click on it and, then, my MacOS 9.04 copy started as it did before the 08 ...

Re: SheepShaver Version 2.5, 8 March 2020 broken?
The list of messages in Console (after searching for "SheepShaver" in the searching cell) is very, very long. And full of regular noise. I dumped the list to a text file to better see the real warning messages. So here is what seems interesting: sysextd Unable to find a SystemExtensions di...

Re: SheepShaver Version 2.5, 8 March 2020 broken?
To get these messages, I run the Console tool, searched for "SheepShaver", then run Sheepshaver. And by the way, i was missing all the messages. There are dozens of lines. Here is what I get at the beginning: sysextd Unable to find a SystemExtensions directory at /Applications/Emulation/Mi...

SheepShaver Version 2.5, 8 March 2020 broken?
Hi all, On my macOS Catalina 10.15.3 system, SheepShaver Version 2.5, 8 March 2020 quits immediately after launching. But the old SheepShaver Version 2.5, 4 May 2019, reinstalled in the same directory, works. As far as I remember, previous december 2019/january 2020 releases were working on my syste...
