i've played around with the networking in SS a bit tonight. I'm running the Windows build and testing the basiliskII ethernet driver (NDIS) I have os8.6 and os9.04. 1) OS 8.6 I finally got os8.6 working by using the powermac rom (CRC a39fb2b9) Using the extracted MAC OS Tome Rom from the CD boots pe...

cool bananas
jit works!
stuff is smooth and fast!
seems to crash on exit (maybe because i didn't load cdenable.sys)
Hopefully Lauri's networking driver gets integrated next.
Fabulous stuff.
Thanks GB!!!

gb - new checkins = new windows build?
I know I'm pushing. I just saw you checked in the asm code that might be causing the windows problems and I'd try and build my own but I don't know whether we can do that for windows from cvs yet?

HFV images? IDE1? Win2k networking
Currently I have 2 disks (one for the OS and one for the apps). Although I can't get pear working for 10.3.X > 1 for networking on Windows 2000 I can get it working if I use this free third-party bridge program http://www.ntkernel.com/utilities/etherbridge.shtml. Install it and run client on. (XP ha...

new cvs build?
gb - i'm not naggin honestly :). I'd love to see the rom patch fixes and I'm guessing but I might be wrong the JIT patch fixes in a build I can play with over my X-Mas break. While I'm asking are you planning on supporting network using TUN/TAP ala Pear and Linux or via the Basilisk Driver? Also I'm...

I get this 1/8 through error too
I have os 8.6 working fine (wow, command and conquer is 100% playable with sound on an AMD XP 3200 running Win2k sp4) and also a brand new os 9.0.4 image working. I'm using the 1.6 rom (none others work AFAIK until Gb updates the binary from his latest cvs contributions) However - with both images i...

testing the .exe
I added a rom line, a disk line:
disk /macos
extfs /
windowmodes 3
screenmodes 63
rom /MacOSROM
I get the error mentioned above if I don't launch X first.
If I do launch X and run ./SheepShaver in the bash shell under X I get:
Cannot map low memory globals: No error.

i got sheepshaver working under vmware several versions back and i'll test with my mac hd for my linux install if you post binaries. Gw - does it work for you now? I downloaded the latest cywin (all of the binaries). After lots of hacking (specifically moving the gtk and gdk include files into the b...

does that mean you got it working?
can you post the binaries (I'm still struggling to compile BasiliskII so binaries helped a bunch). D/led all of cygwin followed the instructions and it gets hung up at the link stage (after adding if_arp.h and moving the gtk/gdk headers - which i'm sure i shouldn't have done).
