@sal54: The rom off the 8.5 cd doesn't work in windows. You need the Mac OS Rom file from the rom update from the apple site to get your video correct. Best wishes Cat_7 Does the ROM For MoL work? That's the one I'm using. :? EDIT: I mean does it work for other people, because it doesn't for me.

I'm right with ataxy (specs and results wise). It's defenetly not a power issue, because I can run OS 9.0.4 on gentoo just fine with JIT enabled. But in Windows is where that happens. Besides, with your logic, there'd be no way in hell that we'd be able to run OS X on PCs until we all had 200Ghz pro...

Either way, have you tried the 500MB HFV image that's been floating around on this site?

Trying to find the cause for JITC errors.

If your box can run SheepShaver w/ JIT enabled, without getting errors or hangage, then can you take a few seconds to post what ROM, CPU, and Operating System you're running (If Windows, then what version and SP)? Gotta see what's causing this. Because from what I see, it works for some people, and ...

Unrelated to the post above me, but, I've noticed that SheepShaver won't work for me when jit is enabled If I try to use jit normally, it hangs during boot.. But it -will- work when I disable extensions (Mind you, no text is visible. Anywhere, as in, it works, but no text), or turn jit off. Is this ...

From what I gather, OS 8.5 is the oldest version of 'Mac OS' that sheepshaver can load. If you want to run OS 7.x or 8.1, use Basilisk II.

OS 8.5 Install freezes whilst loading.

Er, ok. I have the OS 8.5 install CD, though it keeps freezing at a certain point and won't go any further. I successfully installed it a while ago on the Linux version of SheepShaver, so I don't know why It's not working now. Either way, this is what always happens, (hangs there): http://img.photob...
