If you look up the Wired articles about CherryOS, you will see that they did interview Sebastien (of the PearPC team) and Sebastien said that he was definitely NOT happy about it.

Perhaps he didn't write an angry rant because he's more professional than that?

So they contact the main Pearpc developer with an offer he can't refuse, him being an ill-funded student. Cat_7 Look at the horrible job Maui did with trying to fake their "revolutionary emulator." Sure looks like to me they don't have all that much bucks there. Where would they ever find...

I can't see that happening at all... Why would PearPC ever do that? CherryOS doesn't bring anything to the table and they tried to pass off PearPC as their own! What can they possibly offer to PearPC?

I was a little sad too, but then I checked the Sourceforget developer's email list archives. They're definitely still hard at work. You can access them via PearPC's Sourceforge page.

Yeah, it's already Q1 05! Where's our CHERRY OS?? Lol, this is a fake, really. Did anyone consider that MXS is a video streaming company? Why would they move to emulation so fast? Oh, and if this has all of Pear's SRC, wouldn't that violate the GPL? I thought you can't sell something that contains ...

CherryOS = some guy ArbenK comes out of nowhere and claims something like 75%-100% speed. lol...his site says CherryOS will be launched H1 2005...maybe he's real, but maybe PearPC will get 98% speed by then and he rewraps it and calls it CherryOS. You also missed the previous launching date (Novemb...

Changelog

"PearPC no longer consumes CPU time when the client is idle"

Sounds good to me.

Can anyone confirm if this is the solution? (I didn't have problems, so I can't).... If so maybe this should be pinned so it doesn't get lost.

Wait... your DNS probably shouldn't be 192.168.1.1 unless you're running your own DNS servers.... I use optimum online for my internet connection so my DNS servers (there are 2 listed) both start with 167.x.x.x.....

I updated to 10.3.4 last night. My host OS is Windows XP SP1 (with updates) --- NOT SP2 (I think SP2 might be the cause of the problems!) I had no troubles networking. I've got a Linksys 4-port router, plus I am connected through a Belkin wireless router (set to run as an access point) through the L...

I have a 2.4ghz P4-M. The script optimization took about 4 hours. Keep waiting. I left mine to run while I went to dinner with my family and it was still running when we got back. Didn't finish until another 2 hours later.

Yeah, but PearPC uses all of your CPU anyway... so what settings would you be changing? You can change the amount of RAM but RAM really isn't going to make a huge difference. What are your specs?

Great tutorial. Everything is working perfectly. Had one crash (after install finished) when it went into sleep mode (left my laptop while I went to dinner).
