The Prodigal Geek Returns

Hey all! For those of you who don't me, I'm Stephen Torrence and I came here first back in 2004 when PearPC was just getting off the ground. I was an active participant in the alpha and beta testing of PearPC for over a year. However, I got myself an Intel Mac around the summer of 2006 and trotted o...

Ah yes! I never thought to do the transfer using SheepShaver. Although I'm unsure how to create a disk image file compatible with OS 9. What would be the best way to do that?

Disk image becomes read-only after Initialization

I am attempting to install 7.5.3 in Basilisk II following these instructions: http://macscene.net/wiki/index.php/Basilisk_II_Setup_Guide However, no matter what disk image I create for the hard drive, as soon as I get through the "Initialize" process, I cannot write to the disk when I moun...

Well, if Windows will run natively on a MacIntel without issue once they start shipping with more common video cards, my next major system upgrade might well be a PowerMacIntel. That would be heaven to run an OSX/Windows dual boot on a Mac!

So then why can't I use the 3com card? Whenever I specify that one, OSX says the networking device is not present.

Well it seems the G3 is markedly slower with Tiger, unfortunately. :?

So what about getting that 3com card working?

But it's not the default cpu_pvr. Why is it supposed to be changed when you install Tiger? Just curious.

I am using this cpu_pvr value: 0x00088302

It's the one referenced in your Tiger install guide. That is G3, is it not?

Tiger installed, couple of issues...

Alrighty, thanks to some help from Cat_7, I finally have Tiger installed. Unfortunately, I had to do a clean install, since Archive and Install was not working for me. There really wasn't much I needed to transfer from my Panther installation, anyway. And I archive my Panther .IMG just in case I eve...

Well I just got the 5-11-05 build with a bunch of bells and whistles. The 3com card does not work for me in OS X using it. Only the realtek. :(

Yes, I can see the Windows file list and it does create the .DS_Store file there, but fails as soon as I try to transfer anything. Everything worked fine back when I could use ICS. I'm using the 3-23-05 build of 0.4pre.

Bridging works for me up to a point, more details in this thread...

http://www.emaculation.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=2626

So I can browse using bridging, but cannot transfer files. And I cannot use ICS because my router has an IP of 192.168.0.1. :(

Well if someone could answer my question about ICS that's in the Networking forum, I could do this by going the networking route, which I would greatly prefer.

How does one change the default ICS IP address?

The router on my network already uses 192.168.0.1, how do I change the IP address that ICS uses by default?
