So I guess you are saying that only people born programming can be programmers.
and because I learned programming in assembly that I could not learn to program in C or C++?
you are not making sense at all.

Wow, someone willing to try and others laughing.... geez what now. I agree with Macintosh4life, when I read his post I didn't assume that he thought FreeBSD as a launguage, but rather the platform. I could do many things in the programing area too, however I know my limitations, including the amount...

I am really confused about all this talk. Developer version etc. I think everyone of you should watch the video from the unveiling of the mac on intel. Steve says in very plain english that since the beginning of OSX there have been 2 versions, one on ppc and one on intel. both versions are complete...

do you have a mac? or at least a second computer? you could move the files that way. I have not used Balilisk so I do not know if you can network. If the file that you want to open was stuffed by the classic suffit, then when you click on it to open in OSX, it will try to load the classic version. y...

Yes I do know that the xbox will use the triple core cpu. I was just pointing out the obvious about running different Os's on computers. Mac or otherwise. Maybe Apple and microsoft came to an agreement about the ppc to prevent xbox os being ported to mac.. maybe Longhorn is Maxos X! or very similar!...

Oh yeah the Xbox.. forgot to mention that the new xbox test bed is a dual G5 my son's friend works at a software place that is making/testing xbox programs and he said the box is the same as my G5, he was surprised. now would someone buy a g5 and butcher it to test games???? doesn't make sense to me...

Marc you said The reason IBM failed to control the market and create a closed system was that companies such as Compaq deconstructed the IBM PC and copied it, and since IBM used many cheap, non proprietry parts, they could release clone PCs easily. If someone tries this (reverse engeneering the x86 ...

well that is one reason I liked apple, you could have macos, windows, and linux running. but only 2 would be native. oh well!!! I can see trouble down the road with the endless number of add on pci cards. the thing I hated about the x86 market to begin with. all the fussing to get something to work....

well maybe not the cd tray as you put it, but certianly bugs get talked about. working with open source is not something that you need to worry about unless you want to sell or write code for this progect. Using has very little to do with it being open source. Are you downloading the premade code or...

Well I would suggest that you think about linux if you are not happy with windows, you can run pearpc in linux too. OS9 would probably be better served from Sheepshaver. modem support etc is something that you can find in the networking area. I don't sound like much help but everything you mentioned...

not sure what you are asking. files are files, they can be moved and placed on storage media regardless of the programs required to use them. yes you can move the img file to a mac, and then to another computer, but can you use them in the mac? well not directly as the data is placed there by window...

are you sure that the install quits? or does it just seem to be doing nothing. you may have to just leave it alone and go for a beer. not sure about the lastest versions but when i did my installs it took me almost 20 hrs. but I also had a couple of hoops to hop through. I also used the disk utility...

well I have said many times that virtual memory will slow things down if you make both windows and macos use it. remember that macos must use emulation to execute, and that includes moving things in and out of virtual mem. Having said this I would think that using the vm from only osx would be quick...

I am confused again..hahaha is the question about running OSX without windows/linux, or is it about setting up OSX on an external drive and running it from there? I do recall an article from last spring that told how to make a cd bootable disk. it was a way to launch ppc and osx quickly. with the cd...

well if my memory serves well, linux started as a project to allow the pc to have a unix kernal that would work with x86 cpu's and anything that was attached, without having to load drivers you don't need etc. it was written in c++ and could be compiled locally. so to be a linux os you would have to...

I am unclear about your samba problem, are you trying to connect from osx to xp or xp to osx? if you want to connect to xp for file sharing etc. then you do not need to use samba, just set up the networking pref to allow windows sharing. on my net work I called my microsoft network a single letter l...

just to stray a little bit. you are wrong to think that apple started the gui thing, they copied the idea from unix xwindows. now before you jump up and down, I will say that they did it the correct way. now i want to get gwindows to work on my mac but it is written for microware os9, I like that gu...
my point is that in time the emu should smooth out, and if it is not usable to your satisfaction then continue using perapc without the sound. it is nice to know that improvments are happening but not usefull to complain because it doesn't run like the real thing. noting bugs or problems with using ...
