Make sure that the networking box is not checked. If you want networking, there are great tutorials around E-Maculation and other web sites.

Hello, The versions of PearPC Control Panel were created before the screen resolution format change. In order to correct this, you have two options: 1) Check off OMIT instead of supplying a resolution. This will allow you to set the resolution through Mac OS X. 2) You can actually enter in "WID...

What version of Windows are you running? If you install the Visual Basic 6 runtime package located here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/deta ... laylang=en - that file should be included... :?

COMDLG32.ocx goes in your System32 folder, but COMMDLG.ocx goes in your System folder. Try downloading the latest VB6 runtimes from Microsoft and installing them manually (or re-installing them if you've already got them).

Hope that helps. :)

There was a fix for the 3com networking card but I guess that only fixed a portion of the networking problems. Oh well. As it stands right now, networking is broken.

The 3c90x card must still be broken. I get the same issue as well.

Summary: "3c90x networking is b0rken in 0.3pre CVS".

Wow... Hmmm... I would have suggested the G3. :? I don't have a Mac so I really can't tell you through experience. I'm pretty sure that the beige PPC's are crap. A faster G3 (i.e. above 400 MHz) seems like a middle-of-the-road solution to me. Here's one on eBay that I found: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/e...

I'm pretty confident that PearPC could not be ported to run in DOS for various reasons. Removing the operating system layer (i.e. Windows, Linux, etc.) would speed up PearPC but it would be very difficult to do. I suppose the easiest thing to do would be to create an LFS system with an X Server. It ...

What exactly does this mean for the project? Was Stefan an integral part of the team? Well, Sebastian stated that he would continue with PearPC, but that he needed to have some time to comprehend Stefan's accident. Since only he and Stefan had CVS commit access, it will likely mean that no new patc...

How I give you negative $50,000 to d/l the program? ;)

In other words, you pay me $50,000 to download the software.

I do not have a PC and a Macintosh, but I have used Macs before (in the stores, at school, etc...) and I can tell you that on an overclocked Pentium 4 at 3.35 GHz and 1 GB of host RAM, PearPC doesn't even enter the realm of even a 625 MHz G4. It reports a 1 GHz G3, but it feels slower than that. Don...

Switch prom_bootmethod from "select" to "auto". That will solve the "b0rken" problem.

However, you won't get much farther. The CVS code is messed again and Mac OS X will halt when you try to boot it.

There used to be a tutorial on the main page with information on how to go from 3 GB to 6 GB, but it isn't there anymore. From what I can remember, you have to create the 6 GB disk and set it as the secondary IDE device. You then use Apple's Disk Copy utility to copy the old hard drive's contents to...

I can't really say whether or not it would make the installation work. You'd probably be best to keep leaving it, although it is well past the expected mark (I would have guessed about 8-10 hours on a P4 1.8 GHz).

An older/different version may make the installation work, but I really cannot say. :(

Don't see anything wrong with that configuration file... Although, you could set the refresh rate higher than 40 (to around 200 or so - it speeds up the installation a little bit). Give it a little while longer. I originally installed OS X using PearPC 0.1.2 so if you decide to give up this time, tr...

Keep moving the mouse every once in a while to verify that PearPC has not frozen. I'd say with certainty that if the installation does not conclude by the end of today, it probably never will.

Extremely dumb question below. Be prepared.

How exactly do you get the OS 9 classic folder on the virtual hard drive using PearPC? I thought that the operating system had to be installed in order to have the classic folder on the disk. :?

If you can get it to actually load and work (i.e. stop PearPC from hanging), that would be the biggest advancement with PearPC since the clock was fixed!
