Wow... Hmmm... I would have suggested the G3. :? I don't have a Mac so I really can't tell you through experience. I'm pretty sure that the beige PPC's are crap. A faster G3 (i.e. above 400 MHz) seems like a middle-of-the-road solution to me. Here's one on eBay that I found: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/e...

I'm pretty confident that PearPC could not be ported to run in DOS for various reasons. Removing the operating system layer (i.e. Windows, Linux, etc.) would speed up PearPC but it would be very difficult to do. I suppose the easiest thing to do would be to create an LFS system with an X Server. It ...

What exactly does this mean for the project? Was Stefan an integral part of the team? Well, Sebastian stated that he would continue with PearPC, but that he needed to have some time to comprehend Stefan's accident. Since only he and Stefan had CVS commit access, it will likely mean that no new patc...

Make OS X Run Faster
A link to this article ( http://forums.osxfaq.com/viewtopic.php?topic=1709&forum=100&0 ) has been on http://www.PearPC.us 's web site for quite a while now so I am sure that many of you have already seen it, but I just tried the following steps from it: 4. Kill those beautiful-but-CPU-thrash...

I do not have a PC and a Macintosh, but I have used Macs before (in the stores, at school, etc...) and I can tell you that on an overclocked Pentium 4 at 3.35 GHz and 1 GB of host RAM, PearPC doesn't even enter the realm of even a 625 MHz G4. It reports a 1 GHz G3, but it feels slower than that. Don...

There used to be a tutorial on the main page with information on how to go from 3 GB to 6 GB, but it isn't there anymore. From what I can remember, you have to create the 6 GB disk and set it as the secondary IDE device. You then use Apple's Disk Copy utility to copy the old hard drive's contents to...

Don't see anything wrong with that configuration file... Although, you could set the refresh rate higher than 40 (to around 200 or so - it speeds up the installation a little bit). Give it a little while longer. I originally installed OS X using PearPC 0.1.2 so if you decide to give up this time, tr...
