Does this thread still need to be sticky? We're pushing a full 0.2 here!

So besides the version number, is there actually *anything* different between 0.2 and 0.3?
I've been using the 0.2pre that was released a few weeks ago - is there any point in using this new ver?

At the time of writing, the non-JITC version works ok but hopefully the regular ver should be ready soon.

As the MacOS GUI isn't gonna run 20x faster than what it should any more maybe we'll really start to feel just how sluggish Pear is...

I find that sometimes when I boot the SDL ver (in Windows) that I don't get logged on - then when I do try the regular logon, it doesn't like my password! After much stabbing at the keyb I find that one of the modifier keys (it's either shift, option or ctrl...) thinks it being held down! I also get...

Does anyone know how all these many patches are getting integrated into the full thing? I'm just a lil worried that people make different versions or patches - eg SDL, networking, timer, rightclick etc - and that they don't get integrated into the CVS tree... It would be a bit of a waste if all this...

I was just wondering to what degree it had been fixed - eg one fix for the clock would be to sync it with some time server (eg a local one on the host OS) and update the Mac RTC every 30 secs.
I just wasn't sure if it was a *full blown* fix which solved the actual problem or not...

So what does this timer patch fix? Is it just the amazingly fast clock, or the super-speed of the entire system (like the spinning cursors etc)?
Just wondering if this'll fix the doubleclick/keypress related timing problems too... (yes, I know how to deal with them)

You've just gotta squeeze *one* more virtual computer in there to make it the perfect machine - can't you run some kinda console emulator in there (in Win3.1) to round it off? :D

There's only the 'standard' resolutions like 1024x768, 1152x684 etc there's nothing fancy like 1280x854. I assumed that since some Macs could do it, it would be in the control panel for all of them...

Does anyone have any experience of getting non-standard resolutions to work in PPC? I'm just wondering about this cos my laptop has a widescreen TFT (1280x854) and I would like to be able to use the fullscreen option but the largest fullscreen one I can use is 1024x768 - and that's horribly stretche...

Chess tries to (iirc) do a square root, which isn't implemented. What I wanna know is how can square root not work?? I had heard that the FPU wasn't implemented, but if so how the hell does PearPC work at all?! I can't believe that not a single program (bar Excel and Chess) uses FP instructions! Ho...

sveinbjorn, what you want to do now is to run a Mac build of PearPC within the emulated Mac and run MacOS just one more time That's when it'd really grind!

And you're def right - a 1.5GHz Centrino is a lot faster than what it sounds like... But PearPC still runs *so* much faster on my XP 2700...

I have a Centrino in my laptop, but have been using the regular P4 builds with it - what advantage would having a special P-M build have?

I've never used BSD but I would have guessed that there would be some kind of swapon/swapoff commands...
