Just tried a build sent to the dev list a few hours ago - that has sound enabled via PortAudio. \o/ Pearpc is making noises now! Alough very lagged and broken, the sound is clearly audible, this may be because i am testing using my work laptop and not my faster home machine - for a first attempt thi...

That fixed it - the GUI i was using was outdated, thus no bit selection.
Changed to PearGUI latest and it's booting now.

SDL+newclock strange crash

Hi, I downloaded the ppc.pre03.SDL.win32newclock.exe from the richardgoodwin site earlier - i get a crash where the emulation launched, but instead of the grey apple screen, it's white, and the single apple is now two of them (smaller site by side) in a purple colour. The emulation then exits. Here'...

Cindy:

Your Default gateway "Router" should be in the same subnet as your IP address (try 192.168.0.1)

Windows ISC defaulty configures the TAP driver to 192.168.0.1 - thats your default gateway/router

point 1) solved. I used a shell terminal and manually configured device "en1" to add 192.168.0.20/24": /sbin/ifconfig en1 192.168.0.20 255.255.255.0 and edited the dns file /etc/resolv.conf" to add nameservers. vi /etc/resolv.conf (enter the following) [press i] (for insert) name...

Weird crashes, 2 fold.

Hi, I've got two really weird problems, one with potentially PearPC, the other with OSX 1) I installed OSX 10.1, then upgraded to 10.3, choosing the first disk only. works a treat. But when i go to the network preferences within OSX, the control panel generates a crash (so i cant network). 2) Luckil...

I don't think making a LiveCD is the way to go. I would rather see something rather like knoppix that installs a blank system, creates hard disks partitions, extracts the hdd image files etc and waits for an iso on a CD.

Alough direct CD/HDD access for PearPC would be leaps and bounds better.....

I'm suprised that XP runs on that spec (cpu/mem) I've just installed 10.1 (upgrading to 10.3 now) and it's taken best part of 5 hours (plus time i spent learning how to make readable images, and how certain builds break things...) By all means try it.....but your results could be disapointing.... Ch...

Streamlining windows/taking out the middle man ??

Hi, I remember years and years ago at some internet show in london there was an exhibitor who changed their shell from win95/98 to netscape. With a minimaly installed XP setup (base, directx, networking and as little possible else running) would it be possible to get the components needed *only* lau...

Reliable benchmarking

Hi, I'm going to be installing PEarPC/10.3 tonite, and have noticed there is no thread with *reliable* benchmarks. I propose we stick to one program, and post the details, so at least prospective installers will get an idea of how quick PearPC will run, and how future builds improve.. I done a quick...
