MS and VPC... that is not the origon of pc emulation on the mac. MS bought it from another company who bought it from another company. since MS bought it the updates have been lagging. Given the circumstances I think we can forgive them for that. The circumstances on the Mac being in part the G5. V...

No, the concepts that inspired NT came from VMS, not Unix. The system structure is quite different from Unix. All of the Unix-like stuff was tacked on later. For that matter, so was the Windows-like stuff - it wasn't until NT 4 that the GUI subsystem was integrated into the kernel, to the extent tha...

Just to clarify, there is no way of specifying the filename of configuration for this program. The main reason is because Kwai let's you do that, and in my newest version, it's passed to the KwaiStub program when it's run. ... To get it to work properly, all you need to do is rename your config fil...

Assuming you have any say in the matter, could the CD (SPTI) access patch be added to this one? Or is it already?CaptainValor wrote:Or using PearPC.net's RemoteCVS.
I'm a little surprised this patch didn't make it into the 0.3.0 final.

Why reinvent the wheel? Use Spike, a free clipboard manager/sharing program that runs on Windows and Mac and communicates over the network using Rendevous. It works well between real Macs and Windows - there's no reason to assume that it won't work here. Spike is even useful as a standalone clipboar...

- Topic: Why did you upgrade to Windows 95?

I upgraded because I was already using several Win32s programs at the time, particularly some corporate tax software and the Oberon System. Windows 95 was much more stable than Win32s on Win 3.11, so it was a big win. By the way, I bought Win 95 and Office 95 on the first day they came out, at 9am. ...

Re: Updated
I would just like to say one thing. If you are using a P3 trying to run the Altivec build your kinda being redundant. The Altivec code isn't going to give any PURE boost levels or "optimized" performance. Running a P3 with Altivec is like running a race backwards. "You might get ther...

How is this any different from what I do? maybe I didn't make a SDL build? Sorry... The primary difference that I can see is that he only provides AthlonXP and P4 optimized builds, not the standard builds that I can run on my PIII, Celeron or Athlon Thunderbird. A PIII optimized build would be nice...

While we're on the subject, why not SPTI? ASPI was Adaptec's attempt to create a standard interface to CD drives and burners - SPTI (SCSI Pass Through Interface) was Microsoft's attempt to do the same thing, but better. SPTI works on Windows 2000/XP only, but is faster and has better locking charact...

I think the fact that it is not open source is the biggest hurdle to using DirectX. Do you mean the libraries themselves, or the API headers? There are open-source-compatible DirectX API header files available to be used with Mingw and the standard headers can be used with VC++ with no licensing pr...
