Re: My new 26 July 2020 build crashes often at shut down

This doesn't happen here. You might try my build (different icon, but otherwise ordinary code, I think), in the SheepShaver Wrapper:

http://www.columbia.edu/~em36/sheepshaverwrapper.html

Extract SheepShaver from inside the wrapper (it's in the Files folder) and give it a try.

Re: Standalone SheepShaver/OS 9 for Windows and OS X/macOS

This system now uses the 25 July 2020 revision of SheepShaver by kanjitalk755. Also, the AppleScript wrapper has been updated so that it will run smoothly on Macs that have an updated operating system later this year.

You didn't tell us the operating system that you're using or where you got BasiliskII. No one can help without that information.

Thanks. That certainly did look promising. It found some files I was unable to find even with invisible files enabled. Trashed all of those but still getting the beachball... If you're responding to my message suggesting the use of AppCleaner, that was addressed to Ronald's problem. You'll need a b...

Re: Full screen problems in Mojave 10.14.6 and Catalina

Whatever the cause of the issue, it is apparently somehow related to the ~/Library/Preferences/com.emaculation.sheepshaver.plist file. But simply replacing the file is not a general solution. It may have solved the issue for you, but for me it has started the issue. Try this: 1. Backup your .prefs ...

LibreOffice is reported to be able to open ClarisWorks databases; I haven't tried it, but it's free, so the worst thing that can happen is that you'll waste a few minutes installing it.

I am surprised to learn about the existence of the emaculation branch. There is no formal link with emaculation.com that I am aware of. Maybe one of our forum members? It seems to have been created (or at least contributed to) by the user named "ian" or "infixes". You can find d...

Re: soundmanager problem as I want to open an old software

Just FYI, the preconfigured Mac OS 9 system that I distribute has Sound Manager 3.6.5. I can't imagine which preconfigured system had 3.6.4. Maybe Chubby Bunny? Or some disk image that's out there somewhere?

I tried pressing control return and it doesn't toggle to full screen. In fact, in the Window menu, the "Toggle Full Screen" option is disabled.
Control-Option-Return does what you're trying to do, not Control-Return.

This is just a guess, because I can't reproduce the problem:

Try clicking on the SheepShaver desktop after you copy the new material from the host and before you try to paste into SheepShaver.

Re: Standalone SheepShaver/OS 9 for Windows and OS X/macOS

It's not clear what you dropped on the icon; that feature (under Windows) is designed to copy files from Windows to MacOS, not to run games. Since you didn't say what file you dropped on the icon, there's no way to guess what happened. If you want to mount the toast file in SheepShaver, you'll need ...

Open the MacOS terminal and enter

open -e ~/.basilisk_ii_prefs

Add additional lines below the line at the top with the boot disk.

Moderator edit: fixed typo in .baslisk_ii_prefs ;-)

Or, somewhat more easily, you could simply drop a copy of the Classic app on my Classic-on-Intel-Extractor AppleScript app: http://www.columbia.edu/~em36/Classic-on-Intel-Extractor.zip It will copy the COI disk image to the desktop and the copy will have the name "Classic.dmg". If you down...

Re: Chubby Bunny COI crashes on launch.

One thing to do is stop using Chubby Bunny (which is a terrible mess) and use one of the prebuilt setups that you can read about in the Other SheepShaver Configurations subform. If you have files on your Chubby Bunny disk image, mount the disk in the other setup, and copy the files on to the boot-di...

1. Which SheepShaver build is used in the Wrapper? In builds created before 12 January 2020, files moved through the Unix folder will loose resource forks and type and creator codes on APFS hosts (High Sierra and later). Of the builds posted by me, only the 12 January 2020 and 15 March build will w...

I ran Disk First Aid on the disk image in the SheepShaver Wrapper and uploaded a new copy. If you copy your current disk to the new disk image, and you still see this problem in the copied disk image, then it's caused by SheepShaver itself, and you might want to open a thread in the main SheepShaver...

Re: Does SheepShaver not work on Linux ?!

Search the web (this is a SheepShaver forum, not a Linux forum) to find out how to enable the root account in Linux, and then follow the instruction that you did not follow. SheepShaver will not start until you find out for yourself how to enable the root account and enter the command (the one that ...
