Re: Can't read CDs

Here are another couple of (perhaps crazy) ideas that may be worth a shot. If you have Win 7 Professional or Ultimate, you could try running the game through SheepShaver in Windows XP mode. This may not work, based on a comment made on the video tutorial from above. If you are feeling particularly a...

Re: Can't read CDs

Sorry that didn't solve your problem; I was hoping this game was one with multi-drive support. However, I did some searching regarding this issue, and it appears that a lot of people have been trying to play Pegasus Prime in SheepShaver. There are several topics on Emaculation's forums regarding the...

Re: Can't read CDs

I don't think that would work. When I mounted all the ISOs without that, they all appeared but the game still wanted me to switch discs. I'll try it out though. EDIT: that just consistently says insufficient system resources to mount the image Is there anything I can use from within windows to make...

Re: Ferazel's Wand

Ronald P. Regensburg, Quicktime 4.1.2 fixed the problem with Pillars of Garendall, and it seems to be working great so far. Thanks for the suggestion! By the way, I had to manually add "%20.zip" to the end of your link to the latest SheepShaver build before it would work. I wasn't sure if ...

Re: Ferazel's Wand

Just a little update on Pillars of Garendall: I could not get it to work at all with my OS 9 installation. For some reason, it does run under OS 8.5.1, but I had to update to Quicktime 4.0.3. It looks like it will work fine now, though for some odd reason the music is not playing in Fantrima, but it...

Re: Ferazel's Wand

I'm glad to hear you got it working. Did you have to change any of the settings or did allocating more memory help? On an unrelated note, I was checking several of Ambrosia's other old games and discovered that Slithereens now works in SheepShaver as well. Unfortunately, Pillars of Garendall still d...

Re: Ferazel's Wand

Cat_7, I actually found the source from that patch earlier this week; it was largely responsible for my initial interest in the gamma correction functions in SheepShaver. I believe the author of that patch used ICM to implement the fading effects in Windows. I don't know enough about it now, but may...

Re: Ferazel's Wand

Ferazel's Wand lovers will be pleased to know that it can run in SheepShaver, just without gamma fades. I did a little research about the Monitor_Tool that was causing problems and discovered that it is an Ambrosia tool that they used in some of their games for effects. Ben Spees talked about it bri...

Re: Problems Compiling SheepShaver in Mac OS 10.6.6

The problem seems to be caused entirely by Xcode 4. I tried compiling on another computer with Xcode 3.2.2 and it worked fine. I may just uninstall Xcode 4 and go back to Xcode 3. . .

But the good news is that I seem to be able to get working builds now, so thanks for your help, guys!

Problems Compiling SheepShaver in Mac OS 10.6.6

I downloaded the BasiliskII and SheepShaver source code from CVS and am encountering problems with building SheepShaver. Originally, I tried to use the Xcode project, but I have Xcode 4 installed and it has many incompatibilities with the older project, even with the 10.4 and 10.5 SDKs installed. Ne...

Re: Ferazel's Wand

I would appreciate any help you guys are willing to give for compiling SheepShaver; I'll start a new topic about that shortly. Regarding the InputSprockets extensions, that is an interesting find. I wonder if that explains why games that use InputSprockets (such as Mars Rising) are so buggy. I hope ...

Re: Ferazel's Wand

I've been experimenting with Ferazel in HexEdit for the past couple of days and thought I'd share my findings. Unfortunately, I haven't found a debugger that is compatible with SheepShaver; the program crashes whenever one attempts to run. So to trace the code to where Ferazel was quitting I employe...
