Re: Issue with "Unix" on APFS file systems

Still, apparently something changed: When I open files that had been copied to 'Unix' in ResEdit, ResEdit shows this message: "This file needed minor repairs and is now OK." I looked into resource forks copied to HFS+ and APFS. As a result, length of a resource fork on APFS seems to be 51...

Re: Issue with "Unix" on APFS file systems

I found the difference between HFS+ and APFS that caused this issue. https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=20629003 On HFS/HFS+, file/..namedfork/rsrc will always exist (and usually be empty). on APFS, file/..namedfork/rsrc will generate an ENOENT error if the resource fork/attribute doesn't exist. I don't know if the problem can be solved because it doesn't reproduce in my environment, but try the following code.

mabam wrote:And a question to kanjitalk755: Do you think the code for rootless mode could be added to SheepShaver as well?
Zydeco patched ToolBox with 68k code to achieve rootless behavior.
If the same is possible with PowerPC, I think that SheepShaver will be rootless.
I don't know if it can actually be coded.

Re: System 7 coexisting with macOS X

Zydeco's rootless is unstable because using JIT-enabled BasiliskII.
So I have made JIT-disabled version and its pull request.

Re: Basilisk II CPU usage and excessive temperatures on 10.1

If building with Xcode10+, set File -> Project Settings -> Build System to Legacy Build System. I have added this information to kanjitalk755/macemu/readme.md. This simplifies the build procedure (confirmed with Xcode11.2.1). # I tried to make it compatible with the new build system, but it failed.

Have you tried it?

I have revived JIT compiler of BasiliskII.
However, it is somewhat unstable, and the scenes that can be used may be limited.

I think you can now specify 68040.
Can anyone try the latest source?

Re: can't add, create volumes Mac OS Catalina

The difference of binary size is whether it is stripped or not. When I stripped the binary of DerivedData as a trial, it crashed as well. As a result of investigation, it turned out that catch_exception_raise() used in SheepShaver needs symbols. http://vikashdubey.blogspot.com/2010/06/structured-exc...

It turned out that the issue existed since switching to SDL2.
The mouse grab operation is different from SDL1.2, so I don't know if it can be resolved.
Use the soft-cursor if you need the mouse grab.

Using -M mac99,via=pmu already presents usb mouse and kbd to Mac OS, so the mouse gets stuck in the left upper corner. You can't use it if you can't delete the usb-mouse. You have to set "Control Panels -> Appearance -> Fonts -> Views Font" to Osaka.
