I have never used a widescreen monitor, but I have used BII in a variety of high and low resolutions and I seem to remember they all worked fine.

I'm still here. I see you on AIM from time to time.

Nice to have you back.

I am starting to use 68k emulators more now after having not needed Mac emulation for a few years (I have real Macs now) but I still haven't got round to doing much with PPC emulation.

As far as I am aware, there is no BasiliskII for the PocketPC. There is no mention of it on the official page - http://basilisk.cebix.net/.

I once had a MySpace account (remember that site? ), but I only used it to communicate with people who i already communicated with on IRC and forums. So I got rid of it. I did set up a Facebook account, and managed to make a few friends, but no one ever contacted me on it. I found deleting the...

Just done a quick test (with Cat_7's Mac OS ROM) and the SMI file works fine with that Disk Tools disk, but I have to select Quadra 900. It doesn't boot with IIci.

I will try the the boot disk you posted, and will also try some other ROMs. I used the 'Mac OS ROM' file which was included in the BII archive which Cat_7 linked to in the forum (http://www.open.ou.nl/hsp/downloads/BasiliskII_15_01_2010.zip). I just remembered, I have a MacOS 8.1 CD somewhere now, s...

It Works! :)

I decided I would start from scratch and set up a new version of BasilsikII with new hardfiles and new OS installations. I followed the guide on Emaculation. I booted from the system7_boot.dsk, but when I tried to double click on the first 7.5.3 smi file, it opened and then shut again. I tried to ru...

Computer restarting

As you may have read on the forum, I have an old installation of BasiliskII from about 2003/2004. I used it successfully in Windows XP in Virtual Box, but now I have have Windows XP installed on the PC. I double clicked on BasiliskIIGUI.exe and the system immediately restarted. Later, I double clike...

Meanwhile, I've gotten all WEB 2.0 and have added some "social bookmarking" buttons to the wiki. See, for example, the bottom right-hand corner of the Mini vMac setup guide: Ah ha. I just looked at some of the new pages and thought WTF. I can't test them as I don't use social bookmarking ...

Well, Opera always used to claim that their browser was the fastest. Back then though, I always found IE6 to be the faster (in general usage, I wasn't doing any tests).

What is significant about 10.5?

I'm using Opera 9 here on Linux, but I installed Opera 10.something in my new VirtualBox Windows 2000 installation only to find out that the interface has changed again only this time they have got rid of the menubar, and it took me rather a long time to find it.

*confused* I had an attempt at compiling this from Christian's website (http://basilisk.cebix.net/downloads/BasiliskII_src_31052001.tar.gz) but without success. That would appear to be a very old version though. And I have never been very successful in compiling Linux software for some reason....

Compile/Run BII/SS on Linux: Issues and Where to start?

I have loads of BasiliskII setups for Windows, Amiga and BeOS from several years ago, but I now have a new PC with one of those new fangled dual core 64 bit processor things. The machine does not run Windows as I don't currently have access to a suitable version of Windows to install. Hence I am run...

Many years ago I used a ROM grabber (most likely CopyROM) on a PowerBook 1400 and it produced a 4MB file. I'm pretty sure that is the file that I use with SheepShaver. *goes to check* Actually, it isn't. The file is in my SheepShaver folder so I must have tested it before. I just tested it now and i...

I used Bochs a few years ago to install a beta version of Windows 95 or 98 (could have been Nashville or Windows 96 or something) and it worked. But I always had difficulty setting Bochs up. I managed it that time, but it was a few years ago. It should all still be there.

I have heard very good things about IBM/Lenovo ThinkPads.

I have heard plenty of bad things about Apple's more recent products.

There is someone on the 68kMLA whose MacBook kept breaking so he eventually sold it and bought a ThinkPad which he has been very happy with.

Interesting to see the browser stats. Here, I am still using Opera on Windows. But I have Classilla on my Lombard and am really liking it.
