Hi,

You're correct. The current build for OSX does not run in 64 bit mode.
Whether and when this will be addressed is uncertain.

Best,

In looking at what I can find here, SheepSaver is having some problems running on Yosemite. It looks like folks are able to get it to run in 32-bit mode but not 64-bit, is that correct?

Has anyone had any more luck with this or heard anything from SheepShaver as to whether it is being addressed?

... web etc., and clients. Should be appealing ;-) It seems the current tun/tap method for getting SheepShaver to do Appletalk doesn't work anymore in Yosemite. The tuntaposx tool doesn't have signed kexts. Although it seems to install, the devices are not created in /dev/ There are some signed kexts ...

... the window size to the screen size, then hide the dock and menubar, and push the window to the top of the screen. This doesn't entirely work in Yosemite. Apparently, you can't push a window into the 21-pixel-tall band normally occupied by the menu bar - even if the menu bar isn't visible. So ...

Now that Yosemite has a new green full-screen button on the menu bar, is it possible to add one to SheepShaver (by editing a NIB file, I suppose)? Or is it impossible to change screen resolution once SheepShaver is launched?

As I also read in a report on MacInTouch that SheepShaver will run in Yosemite in 32-bit mode but not in 64-bit mode. Luckily SheepShaver defaults to 32-bit when installed the first time. @ jdehaller Did SheepShaver run before you upgraded to Yosemite? If so, ...

A MacOSX 10.2 kernel panic (system crash).

Maybe it is useful to repeat what you mentioned in your first post and what is again apparent form the appearance of the QEMU window in your images, that you run QEMU in OSX 10.10 (Yosemite) beta. Has anyone else had success running this in Yosemite beta?

Hello Ronald and Cat_7,

Thanks for your support.

I solved the issues by rebuild LaunchServices.
After this SheepShaver.sheepvm runs fine with latest build 2.4 (01-02-2014) in 32 bit mode :-)

Best,
Wim

Just updated my VMWare installation of Yosemite to DP 5.
The SheepShaver 2.4 (01-02-2014) build runs fine when "Open in 32-bit mode" is ticked, but doesn't start inside the bundle when 64-bit mode is requested.

Best,
Cat_7

The issue is probably not between version 2.3 or 2.4*, but with the sheep.vm virtual machine not being recognized as a SheepShaver "file". Does it show the SheepShaver icon? Do you keep SheepShaver inside the virtual machine? That is not needed. Take SheepShaver out of the VM bundle and pl...

I have a couple of issues with OSX Yosemite Beta. When I try to launch SheepShaver.sheepvm with SheepShaver 2.4 (2014-02-01) inside the bundle the app refuses to start up. I can however launch an older version, SheepShaver 2.3 (2009-10-25) ...

EDIT: Yosemite is installed in VirtualBox, not in dual-boot with Mavericks.

Voted "I don't care" because I don't really use Mac OS X, and I didn't really do any research on it. The screenshot does look nice, though.

Trying it out on a VM is fine; it should behave almost the same as on the bare hardware. The trick is to see if you can run SS and BII on it, as there have been some changes to the development environment with Yosemite -- I'm curious to see if things break.

I've added http://apple.wikia.com/wiki/OS_X_10.10 -- but haven't tried the beta yet due to no time to fiddle with test hardware atm. The premise looks reasonable; I look forward to hearing what breaks in the beta and how it performs on 2008-2010 hardware. Also: the big question for everyone here: ho...

Who all have tried OS X Yosemite? At first, I though Apple lost their marbles. Now, I'm amazed it's a desktop OS still, dispite features from iOS. Share your opinions, what you liked, what could be better, what needs to be removed, etc.

Recently I've purchased an g3 500 processor for upgrade my B&W Yosemite (my old g3 300), but it refuses to start when configured at that speed. It starts at 450 only. Is there a fix for this? I tried installing latest firmware but it says it's already up-to-date.
