Cat_7 is right . You must use the correct ROM for this . If you don't know what that means... New World ROMS support Mac OS 8.5 to Mac OS 9 in SheepShaver . Old World ROMS support Mac OS 7.1 to Mac OS 9 in SheepShaver . Only certain Old World ROMS support Mac OS 9 , as I remember . Besides , using ...

Mac OS ROM Update 1.0 Isn't that what I just said? Don't use the Open Transport from the Default OS 9 Install This is the same for every OS I use . Also , SheepShaver is crashing , not the OS . I noticed that SheepShaver crashes on certain applications , mostly because of performance issues . Proba...

First you must know is that Asian text doesn't have to be stored as Unicode, it could also be presented in DBCS charsets (Shift-JIS, GB2312 or Big5 for example). Back in 1980's, Japan, PRC, ROC and Korea each implemented their own solution to display their characters as their national or de-facto st...

Quicktime 2.0/2.1/2.5/4.0.3/4.1/4.1.2 works in Sheepshaver with any ROM, 5.0/5.0.1(NOT 5.0.2/5.0.5) may work if you have 9500 or G3 ROM...Ronald P. Regensburg wrote:QuickTime 4.1.2 downloads in different language versions:

Mini vMac Snapshot: February 12, 2011
Today's Development source snapshot fixes a bug in the 3.2.1 alpha which broke emulation of the trace flag, used by debuggers such as MacsBug and TMON. Thanks much to one of the developers of ScummVM for reporting this bug. There is no other significant change in this snapshot. In recent months I h...

Implement a force-quit feature for Sheepshaver?
Currently the close window button of Sheepshaver window is mapped to Mac "Power" key. When the emulated Mac hang (not Sheepshaver itself), the only way to exit SS is to terminate its process. I wonder that how could the close window button just quit SS. By the way, my MinGW/MSYS toolchain ...

Re: System7
Anyway SheepShaver won't run 7.1.2 as far as I can tell. But if you would like to see 7.5 again, SheepShaver does run 7.5.3 Revision 2.2 . See System Recovery 1: "7.5.3-PM 9500 folder", if someone wants to try it. Guess, you were all aware of that. The default System installation will onl...

MiniVmac is not emulating a MacII right now, but that seems to be under construction. I've been using Mini vMac IIx since the end of 2009 (however the author isn't very interested in completing Mac II emulation). Mini vMac II with 8MB RAM could run Stuffit Expander 5.5 and expand Sit5 .sit files, a...

I did compile and run Mini vMac inside Mini vMac II....however the Mini vMac 68k build with MPW 3.5 is incredibly slow not only in Mini vMac II but also in other Mac emulators. I want to know which MPW gryphel used for building official mac68k Mini vMac.

The II/IIx boot slower than older builds Yes, I expect it would be somewhat slower than before. Some increases in accuracy affect the C version of the CPU emulation more than than the assembly language versions. Now that there is assembly language for both PowerPC and Intel, the C version is evolvi...

I got an unimplemented trap system error with an Old World ROM, but I figured out the problem (in my case, anyway.) It was the Sound Manager extension--every time an alert sound or anything else played, SheepShaver would crash. Removing the extension fixed it, but I decided to reinstall a different...
