I seem to be getting a bit further with this now. Now it says my libgcc_s.so.1 is missing, even though i created the symbolic link. So i'll try and find that now. Don't worry about the installing thing that i mentioned in my last post. I just copied the content on the rpm to the correct directory on...

I should have installed all the development packages. I ticked development in in linux setup programme.

How do I install the RPM that you told me to download?
If I right click it in GNOME and click install, where does it install to?

thanks

error when loading binaries

Whenever i load sheepshaver by clicking on it's icon, it doesn't load. So I decided to run it in the terminal. I went into /usr/bin where it is installed and typed ./SheepShaver and this is the output: ./SheepShaver: error in loading shared libraries: libstdc++.so.5: cannot open shared object file: ...

I can't see any reason why you B2 hard disk shouldn't work with sheepshaver, but if it doesn't work, you will probably need to install OS8 on a ppc machine such as a real mac or sheepshaver.

hope that helps

MMU and full screen

I know that sheepshaver does not currently support these things, but does anyone know whether it will be easy for someone to add fullscreen and mmu support to sheepshaver?

So i'm not sure what your problem is. Hi Stephen, I'm a big Amiga fan too. I still have my A1200. Nice web site you got. Is that the we...

i'm not too sure about what could be wrong, but try burning the OS8.5 image onto a CD-R rather than a CD-RW, and check that the cd is not mounted under linux.
If it is mounted, then unmount it (you normally have to type a command at the command prompt, ut i'm not sure what it is)

i don't know if it will work.
You will have to try it and see, but it probably needs a faster processor than the one sheepshaver has.

What people don't seem to grasp is that it's really not illegal to make an emulator...it's pretty illegal to use the copyrighted ROM code though -- it belongs to Apple, and there are no two ways around that. They can sue, not unlike the RIAA, anybody who is using their ROM (and MacOS I believe beca...

there is a link to the rom on one of the Mac on linux pages
http://www.maconlinux.org

and use tomeview in basilisk or other 68k emulator to extract it, or you can register and pm me for a site where you can download a ppc rom image.

hope that helps

I know where you can get a rom, but i won't post it here because it will just get deleted. (email me if you really want the address) but if you have linux and want to emulate the PowerMac, you can download the rom off apples site. Check the sheepshaver forum and forums.delphiforums.com/macemulation ...

I think most of the roms on that site have been relesed for free, but if there is a link to a rom, you can download it and use it.

i don't know if i should provide this link but you can find plenty of roms and mac os at (bink)

and (bonk)

hope that helps
