I should have installed all the development packages. I ticked development in in linux setup programme.

How do I install the RPM that you told me to download?
If I right click it in GNOME and click install, where does it install to?

Whenever i load sheepshaver by clicking on it's icon, it doesn't load. So I decided to run it in the terminal. I will just install a new linux distriution i think.

I can't see any reason why you B2 hard disk shouldn't work with sheepshaver, but if it doesn't work, you will probably need to install OS8 on a ppc machine such as a real mac or sheepshaver.

I don't seem to be able to get the slackware package to work either.

I suppose i'll just have to wait until i buy a copy of partition magic and install mandrake linux.

I know that sheepshaver does not currently support these things, but does anyone know whether it will be easy for someone to add fullscreen and mmu support to sheepshaver?

i'm not too sure about what could be wrong, but try burning the OS8.5 image onto a CD-R rather than a CD-RW, and check that the cd is not mounted under linux.
If it is mounted, then unmount it (you normally have to type a command at the command prompt, ut i'm not sure what it is)

I have finally installed to get DragonLinux v2r1 (a distribution that is based on slackware) on my computer. I have tried compiling the source code wich i downloaded from gwenole's site. I ran autogen.sh and it seems to get stuck at: Checking if we can skip instruction in SIGSEGV handler or somethin...

i have never run sheepshaver, but try logging in as a normal user, not root.

If you try that, could you say what happens?

i don't know if it will work.
You will have to try it and see, but it probably needs a faster processor than the one sheepshaver has.
