I am not usually one for suggesting the use of CSS, but since the site already uses it, maybe we could make a new page with the content on, and then make some style sheets that make the page look like it does now, with the side bar displaying correctly and the 'pill' not appearing at the bottom of t...

I don't have a working link as Marc's site seems to be very temperamental, but I do have the PDF file and the EXE file both on my hard disk. I can supply a copy to anyone who wants.

It is a very good guide.

Edit: os-emulation.net seems to be no more.

That sounds similar to a problem I have. I was using SheepShaver on Windows 2000 to try and do some drawing in ClarisWorks 4 and it was a bit awkward because the mouse pointer was a bit out.

I never bothered trying to find out why though.

This is now completely off-topic, nothing to do with emulation, but let's proceed with what I think is the solution. Well it WOULD not be off-topic (that's WHY I came to emaculation) IF I CAN'T install Quark the orthodox way. If the installation will not succeed on a real Mac, it will certainly not...

Ah, well, if you don't have a floppy drive, you're stuck. Bit odd for a PC to not have a floppy drive 8O. In that case all I can suggest is that you either find some other programme which can open Quark documenta (I will have a look into this as well), or I can send you my copy of Quark and see if t...

OK, never mind that GTK link. Use this one instead:

http://www.emaculation.com/gtk-2.10.11-win32-1.exe

Slightly older version, but it works.

For running sheepshaver on windows, you need the Win32 one, here http://www.libsdl.org/release/SDL-1.2.13-win32.zip As for GTK, it appears that their website has issues, but as far as I can tell, this is the file you need http://downloads.sourceforge.net/gladewin32/gtk-2.12.9-win32-2.exe. If not I h...

To get SheepShaver set up, first, you need the following packages: SheepShaver - http://gwenole.beauchesne.info/projects/sheepshaver/files/SheepShaver-2.3-0.20060514.1.win32.zip SDL - http://www.libsdl.org/download-1.2.php GTK - http://gladewin32.sourceforge.net/modules/wfdownloads/ Install those on...

Do you get the error message when running it in OS9 or in Classic?

I could send my copy of Quark to you in an email, but you could first try installing MacOS 7.5.3 in SheepShaver and running the installer in that. I think SheepShaver can be used in MacOSX.

I'm not sure about the G4 PCI heatsink, but I know that the B&W G3 has a much smaller heatsink than the AGP G4. I'd say the AGP one is about twice as big, and a different shape.

When I tried to run linux on my Beige G3, I tried a couple of versions of Yellow Dog and Suse, but Debian was the only one I could get working properly (well, I couldn't quite get debian working properly, but was more succes...

I can confirm that Quark Xpress 3.x will work in Classic and on OS9 on a G4, as I have used it. However, I don't have the installer, and instead, have the application's folder on a CD-R, which when I want to put it on the system, I just copy the folder accross onto the HD and it works. Screenshot competition

I was just looking through some topics here with screenshots of lots of emulators, one with the idea of a screenshot competition. I thought that might be a good idea. We could all post a nice screenshot which includes some kind of emulation, plonk them all on a page on the emaculation site and vote ...

Help with Linux

I have been playing with Linux a bit over the last few years. A few years ago, I used WinLinux 2003 quite a bit. That was good for me as I could install it without repartitioning my HD. Last couple of years I have also fiddled with getting Debian on some old world Macs without much success. Anyway, ...

Well, I just plonked a text file in Executors Apps: directory and used that, which will probably explain why it worked.

Maybe it is some limitation of HFV, or executors ability to access HFV files.

How do you access an HFV file in executor? I'm sure I did it a few years ago, but now can't remember.

Have you checked that BasiliskII GUI saved the colour settings to the prefs file?

I have changed to 256 colours recently using the GUI and it has worked fine.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Just increasing the memory didn't make any difference, but I changed it to 256 colours and now it works. Just in a language that I can't understand.

EDIT: I managed to obtain a copy of Version 2.0 in English.

ClarisCAD

Has anyone here either used or got a copy of ClarisCAD? I havn't been able to find much about it. What I did get...

You can change it from the Desktop Pattern control panels. If you downloaded 7. from Apple, it should be included as I'm pretty sure it was in mine. You just can't change it to a picture unless you use a special extra programme which I forgot the name of.

Hmm. Skinning. I remember when I used to get my Windows 9 system to look like Windows XP and OSX about years ago. These days I prefer to use the standard windows layout. Skinning is nice for the sake of it, but I prefer a simpler looking interface when working.
