Re: x86 Emulation: UTM issues
I’ve found this: https://www.emaculation.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=11094 But currently I have only one screen resolution available in System Preferences, namely 1280×720. Since qemu_vga.ndrv, as referenced under the link above, contains more resolutions, it seems to be the wrong file. Which is the c...

Re: x86 Emulation: UTM issues
If anyone wants the UTM config files I'm successfully using, let me know and I'll post them on my GitHub page . Thanks for your hard work and for uploading them! I created a Mountain Lion VM in QEMU (on Intel macOS Ventura host) based on your config. Works a treat! Originally it was a Snow Leopard ...

Adding Samba to my netatalk NAS
Maybe someone more expert than me can help with this question: For compatibility reasons I want to enable Samba on my netatalk (A2Server) NAS. I know there’s the vfs_fruit module for Samba to interoperate with netatalk 3. But googling brings up reports from several people who experience incompatibil...

Re: New System 7 setup on OSx Catalina
Last year I tried Cat_7’s test build with etherhelper. But he reported that, opposed to a connection via tap, it gets the same IP address as the host. So I guess for a guest system using AppleTalk via DDP only , it should be fine. Back then I made a test build of Basilisk II with vde ( https://www.e...

Note that using "regular" file sharing on the host or guest (SMB or AppleShare IP) won't work, as the host and guest have no compatible versions of either of these protocols. Well, installing netatalk on the host should restore compatibility: https://www.emaculation.com/forum/viewtopic.ph...

Re: Server mode Ethernet in Basillisk II not working
I don't have sample code for Code Warrior, but I do have a lot of INIT and CDEV code for Symantec C++. The problem with Code Warrior (specifically version 8) is that it does not have an inline assembler that allows you to mix C and assembly in one function like Symantec C++ does. The later is good ...

Re: Server mode Ethernet in Basillisk II not working
Sorry to go off topic here but reading your post I was reminded of something. I've been using both "Code Warrior 8" and "Symantec C++ 7" for my recent experiments, as I have a lot of sample code to start with from when I was a developer back in the 90s. Do you happen to have INIT...
