Re: Qemu virtio drivers for Mac OS 9.x

Sure you can run this on Linux. But you can't attempt this on the screamer code (so no audio), as both require a different openbios. Download the qemu-virtio-gpu.patch from: https://github.com/elliotnunn/classicvirtio/tree/main/patches Download qemu and patch it: git clone https://gitlab.com/qemu-pr...

Re: Basilisk II / Windows 10 Networking

The ethernet driver is not needed.
Take a look at our SheepShaver guide, it details the network setup which works the same for Basilisk.

Re: Is there a way to make QEMU PPC faster?

The problem is allocating more than 1008MB for guest ram gives panics on boot. The memory limit is cuz Tiger did have a RAM limit, and that's because of more than that the addresses are scrambled and it can't find the right bank. This has been fixed since Snow Leopard because of changing the CPU ve...

Re: How to transfer files to sheepshaver without giving access to hard drives

The external drive feature cannot be set to a single folder only.

If you're not comfortable with that, you can check our guide detailing network-based ways to get files in/out of the system.

Re: Does QEMU support hfs floppy disk images?

Indeed, Qemu does not support Mac floppy images.
That is why I created the small hard disk image with floppy content to be able to boot to the A/UX installer.

I can’t speak to his extended absence from the Gryphel Project website nor (for reasons of privacy) offer any assurance other than this statement. But for what it’s ...

Re: Programming my own Mac emulator

Speed is probably the main one, but the current limitation there is that QEMU uses softfloat for accurate FPU emulation rather than relying on the host (each host architecture has differences in its interpretation of the spec compared with a real PPC CPU, particularly around flags). From following ...
