Re: Can't copy BIN files in HFV Explorer under Windows XP
He's on Windows, so The Unarchiver's little sister, the unar.exe (downloadable from the previously mentioned Unarchiver website) would be the solution. But it would split the resource fork from the data fork, rendering the final result useless in the emulator. I linked not to The Unarchiver website...

Which files are you specifically having problems with?
Using The Unarchiver is one option, but sticking with the aforementioned .img files is probably a better way to go.

Re: My new old iMac DV+ :-)
I was going to suggest using Zip-It instead of Stuffit and hopefully get a better compression ratio. (Zip-It is tricky sometimes, but as long as it's being used on both ends, it shouldn't cause problems.) Can I ask where you got your half-size AAs? I was just thinking I was going to need one of thos...

Aye, I thought I remembered reading something about that.Scrambles wrote:The one I'm really keen to get working is Dark Forces. Yes it is available on Steam for the PC, but the Mac version has double the resolution. The gfx on the PC look horrible.
Did you turn on 68040 emulation in the Basilisk preferences?

Well, the file appears to be intact.
How did you decompress it? Did you end up with an app called "BardsTale" and two folders named "Characters" and Data" ?

Re: New VirtualBox Mountain Lion SheepShaver MacOS 9 Tutoria
I had no idea getting OS X running on an Intel machine had become so easy. What happened to Apple putting in extra BIOS-related security to keep it from booting, or whatever?
I suppose the OS X port of Sheepshaver is still much superior to the Linux port these days?

Just FYI, Maelstrom has an SDL port for some reason and is playable everywhere . And of course Dark Forces is on Steam (packaged with DOSBox, I think), though I wouldn't be surprised if the Mac port is superior in some way. (Last I checked, progress on the open source XL Engine was stagnating.) Alas...

Neat! I suppose it still requires an installation of Mac OS as well as a BIOS ROM? (For that matter, does Previous also require NeXTSTEP and some kind of BIOS?)

Re: Starship Titanic - how to run? (for dummies)
It sounds like you might not have enough free space on your emulated volume. You can always make a fresh one and mount it alongside the .hfv that OS9 is installed on.
There are ways to get around using Stuffit (like this), but that won't help if there's just no space on your .hfv.

Re: Accessing Scrapbook Crashes SheepShaver
Rather than giving SheepShaver extra memory, I think you have to access the properties of the SheepShaver app in the Finder (i.e using Get Info) and increase ResEdit's available memory there.

I think...i´ve a wrong sheepshaver.gui. If you followed the guide, then you have the same sheepshavergui.exe as everyone else. You might be missing the Visual C++ redistributable package. (This wouldn't be mentioned in the guide as systems often have it installed for some other reason.) https://www...

Someone pointed out that, surprise surprise, the 30-day trial of GoBe can still be downloaded. http://download.cnet.com/GoBeProductive/3000-2064_4-10069275.html I doubt the registration functionality still works, though. UbuntuXP, has anything further come from your effort to compile the MMU? I am on my 10.6.8 machine. If all that's needed is to compile the code on this type of OS, point me in the direction of a suitable compiler, and give me a web address to upload the results. To be clear, it is (apparently) not ...

I was waxing nostalgic about Clarisworks again today. I became very proficient with that program during my high school years; it ran like arse on the Mac Classic, but was pretty decent when the school switched to the LC 475. Of course, after high school I pretty much never saw it again. Wikipedia wi...

I'm not sure that will help you with your problem, but a .sit file is a Stuffit archive and can be opened with Stuffit Expander. There should be suitable instructions for using Stuffit Expander in the wiki.

While that is a remake, it is most certainly not Activision's Kaboom!.

Rather, that is a clear remake of Bomberman, aka Dyna Blaster.
Sure looks nice, anyway. I forget how capable the IIgs was.

Pegasus Prime is also now supported by ScummVM, if you happen to already have a copy somehow; ScummVM runs pretty much anywhere. (According to http://wiki.scummvm.org/index.php/Pegasus , the DVD version in fact uses a modified version of ScummVM.)

Yeah, some of them are. But, they don't run perfectly. Like the ones that have mini games don't work or there are weird quirks in how they run in ScummVM. Perhaps you should inform the devs if they're not already aware? I like having them all in a SheepShaver VM image. To be clear, System 7.1 won't...

Aren't some or all of those also supported by ScummVM? (I know that's not terribly helpful, but if you just want to get them running, then that would be the way to go.)
