Indeed, SheepShaver does have its button numbers mixed up, resulting in the middle and right buttons being reversed. I have a fix for this, which I will seek to have delivered into the source tree. The bug is actually in BasiliskII code and affects both applications.

I don't know if it has anything to do with your crash, but it is immediately noticeable that you have a plethora of input managers and the like installed: 0x22000 - 0x2dfff +com.rogueamoeba.audio_hijack_server.hermes 2.0.3 (2.0.3) <d2d1065eb5d1d904d1ba2146ed3b4a93> /usr/local/hermes/modules/Instant ...

I just tried TheMouse2B in Mac OS 8.6 under SheepShaver, and it appears to work, except that it is responding to the middle mouse-button rather than to the right button. Whe...

I'm done for now...

I'm happy to report that fellow forum member and developer Myrd has delivered all of my SheepShaver code changes into the official CVS repository. I have made one final set of builds, available at http://www.nomicro.com/SheepShaver.html . These builds are right from CVS today, 28 June 2008, and ther...

Re: Which Compiler do I use?

Ah, thank you Ronald, that tells me that Sheepshaver must be locking up before very much of any code is run. I am now trying to compile the downloaded source code, would you happen to know which compiler it is written for? I see no makefile for gcc, nor a project file for xCode. Thank you for all y...

Where is the sheepshaver_pref file?
The file is in your home directory and is named ".sheepshaver_prefs". The leading "." renders it invisible to the usual tools, but you can open it with (e.g.) TextWrangler's "Open Hidden" menu item.

I wil ask Myrd, who created the SheepShaverPrefs and added it to SheepShaver, if he can add the setting for frameskip 0. Haven't seen him here for a while, I will try contacting him with a personal message. From a quick look at the source code, I think that frameskip 0 will function identically to ...

The b/w cursors are in CURS resources, the color cursors are in crsr resources, but the Finder only has the CURS resource, so how could this particular problem be a problem with a color cursor? With command-click-and-hold, a 'hand' icon appears (in the "S" version, not in the "H" version) that can scroll the window in all directions. I just had a look at the SheepShaver video driver's SetHardwareCursor support, and it clearly does not do the right thing when passed a c...

The SDL library used by SheepShaver eats command-clicks and option-clicks, turning them into right-clicks and middle-clicks of the emulated 3-button mouse. I don't yet know why real right-clicks, or command-click-emulated right-clicks, don't actually seem to work in the hosted Mac OS. Of course, I o...

OK, I decided to try Basilisk II. What I observe is that when I move the cursor outside the BII window, the "real" cursor appears; the BII cursor continues to track around the outside edge of the BII window as I move the mouse around, as long as BII is in the foreground. When some other ap...

Re: new snapshot available

Interesting! Would this be a solution that is worth to add to cvs? I think it's worth considering. Being a heuristic approach, it is not ideal, but a better solution would probably have to involve devising a ROM patch. That would require a great deal more effort, by a developer with access to all o...
