Indeed. They just get worse and worse. I wonder why they stopped naming them after the year. (edit required here: 95 got out in 96, that's why)

That's why it's hard. And that's why I try yaboot and OpenBIOS right now. And New World ROMs contain code that Open Firmware executes.

Even easier ("cat" that sh*t) Where "*" is your CDROM cat /dev/hd* > /usr/%username%/desktop/OSXinstallcd1.iso (OMG!) Do you not have any expirience with *nix? Or do you use some weird distro? anyway, on most distros it's: cat /dev/* > /home/${username}/Desktop/OSXinstallcd1.iso...

A Way to run OS8/9 on PearPC. Sort of.

I thought about it, and figured it should be possible to run OS9 on PearPC by loading the Mac OS ROM as an Operating System. I have made several attempts, by trying to load it in the 'force' mode. No luck yet, but I'll continue trying. I also tried loading yaboot and from it loading the Mac OS ROM, ...

Do you know how to compile PearPC without patches? If so, simply type, in cygwin, "patch -p1 < path_to_patch_file" while in the source directory, and then compile normally.

SheepShaver in Windows is still pretty unstable. You should try using it on Linux. Just boot Knoppix (no installation required) and use one of the guides to run SheepShaver.

The game is in a DMG archive. I extracted the game from the DMG in OSX. I thought of using Stuffit. If I could use stuffit to transfer the files, my problem wou...

Welcome to Emaculation!

How is your config file called and where is it saved? Because it seems like either a wrong filename or a typo.

I'm not totally sure what you mean by "Rom" but I have the OS 9 installation disk. The ROM, for the Mac, is like the BIOS is for the PC. It's the very first application the computer runs, and therefore the computer cannot boot without it. If you do have the OS9 CD, you can extract the rom...

Mandriva LIMITED would _probably_ run SS, if earlier versions did. However, the fact that it's limited might cause some trouble, as they might have removed certain libraries. I know from expirience that it works on Fedora, and it has been reported to work on Gentoo and Mandriva 10.1.

First, you have to get Mac OS. If you have an "old world ROM", you can get anything from 7.5.3 to 9.0.4. If you don't, get 8.5-9.0.4, and extract the "new world" ROM from it. SheepShaver doesn't "just run".

That way looks promising. If the heavy traffic does cause the buffer overrun, then we must find a way to 'hide' the unrequired traffic from the bridge. I thought the bridge should do that automatically (i.e. once it detects a certain MAC address on one side of the bridge it doesn't forward traffic d...

The WiFi (wireless network) specification doesn't allow more than one MAC address per network node, and therefore does not allow bridging. The routers bridging does work with relax that restriction, and therefore not fully comply with the WiFi specification. It's not a bad thing, but it might cause ...

@PPC_Digger Thank's for your answer. I have read about an 'OpenBios' Implementation for PearPC. With 'OpenBios', PearPC should emulate a PPC with MacOS 9 running. Is that right? What do you think the Mac will look like in 10 years?

Here is what I think: Mac timeline 1984-2015: 1984 - Apple introduces the Macintosh 1990 - System 7 is introduced, with 32-bit memory management and proper use of colors 1995 - Apple switches the Mac to the PowerPC architecture 1998 - The iMac series is first introduced 2001 - Mac OS X is intruduced...

Well it won't matter if your Athlon 64 won't supposrt that, OS X won't be able to run on non-mac systems, they will prevent this from happening Yes, but I am pretty sure that QEMU or some other PC emulator would implement something to allow that, and then it would run on native speeds, so I hope SS...
