- Which system did you use to boot from to do the installation? Was it also 7.5.3? The used ROM file may allow booting from that system but not from 7.5.3/7.5.5. - The installer will install system files that are intended for a different machine. The installed system may work only partially or not a...

On my 9.0.4 with QuickTime 4.1.2, QuickDraw 3D 1.6 (six extensions) is present. I never installed it separately, so it must have come with 9.0 or with the 9.0.4 update or with the QuickTime 4.1.2 update. Note that one cannot simply downgrade either QuickTime or Quickdraw, because some extensions exi...

For some reason using that version of basilisk constantly crashes before it boots up. I suggested to use the BasiliskIIGUI in that download, not BasiliskII itself. Yet, while the option to change color display is not on the GUI, it still isn't available within the running emulator. This is most per...

Maybe you should delete the prefs file and start again using the newer BasiliskIIGUI that is included in the BasiliskII download from this page:

You do not tell which is your host system. In BasiliskII for MacOSX, low values for screen settings in the GUI will limit your choices within the emulated machine. The higher the settings in the GUI, the more choices you will have in the control panel (or its corresponding control strip). I do not k...

It is not a good idea to post email addresses in forum messages. Those can be read by bots that collect addresses for spamming. The safest way is to send an email message from the user's profile page. The receiver of that email will then see the sender's email address and start a normal email exchan...

I always thought that older Mac stuffit formats had a resource fork and that was the reason why those files needed to be encoded before transferring them along other platforms. But I cannot find sit files with resource forks, anyway not among sit files from mid 90s. So possibly the need to encode th...

First of all: When you did not migrate from an earlier version of MacOSX you do not need and should not use this correction of a permissions issue with 10.5.x that exists only after migrating from Tiger or Panther!!! Secondly: You did not correctly type the command (omitted spaces), but you should ...

MIDI is indeed played through QuickTime. I dug up some old midi file that played and play fine in System 7.5.3 through MacOSX 10.5.6 on real hardware Macs. When I try to play them in SheepShaver for MacOSX, SheepShaver will crash consistently. SheepShaver with MacOS 9.0.4 and QT 4.1.2 (the latest ve...

The G3 ROM file will not work with SheepShaver for MacOSX. When you search the rendundantrobot website, as Cat_7 suggests, you will find two links to ROM files that will work: Old World 4mb ROM that will allow running System 7.5.3 through Mac OS 9.0.4 New World PPC ROM that will allow running Mac OS...

You are not doing anything wrong. This error is a known issue that affects a minority of Leopard users only. The cause is still a mystery. For some the problem was solved by (re-)installing the latest 10.5.x Combo-updater. I see that you already found this thread: http://www.emaculation.com/forum/vi...

Yes I did. As I told ya I try to start up sheepshaver and it never happen. It didn't start up. You did try, but did you ever succeed or not. The earliest posts in this thread seem to suggest that you did succeed in launching SheepShaver at first. So did you or didn't you succeed in launching SheepS...
