Re: Installing Adobe Freehand, Superpaint
Please explain in more detail what you are trying to do and how you do that. You are running BasiliskII on a PowerBook G4? On which MacOSX version? Can't you run MacOSX 10.4 (Tiger) with Classic Environment on that PowerBook G4? Then you would probably not need an emulator. Might be that his SuperP...

Re: My experience with SheepShaver so far :-)
3. Internet access can be had in two ways: through the installation of a separate driver (but not in 64-bit systems). This solution will almost certainly crash SheepShaver at start when there is traffic on the ethernet from within Windows. Then there is the slirp option which is much more stable bu...

Uberfox seemed to be missing for several months. The busy mouse bug is one of most important Sheepshaver bugs and should be fixed in the source tree as soon as possible..

Do not use USB thumb drives to transfer from OSX to OS9 without reformatting as HFS+.
OS9 just won't recognize OSX's "._" AppleDouble resource fork format.
Do you have an older Stuffit for OSX that still generate SIT5 .sit archives?

The old Movieplayer 2.x runs just faster in Sheepshaver, and it allows access to Quicktime export features without a Pro key.

Re: Experiencing to run System 7.5.1 and lower in SS
Those Nubus Powermacs had different code in their ROM and their special OS would require those features to run, which are not in Sheepshaver's PCI Mac OS ROMs.

If you have a Windows PC with internal serial port, you can try Sheepshaver or Basilisk II for Windows as their serial emulation seemed to work out of the box.

My patch is still based on the CVS code and not the git code.. I don't know will this patch work under the newest git code. Sheepshaver for Windows with window menu Force Quit item and Force Quit hotkey confirmation, based on the latest and last CVS snapshot: http://www.mediafire.com/file/2eydxr124w...

I didn't look at the keyboard code... Now the confirmation when "emergency quit" hotkey (It's in fact Ctrl+Esc, however Windows itself use it as a substitute to the Windows key so only Ctrl+Alt+Esc will work) down is also added. --- /d/video_sdl.cpp Sat Jan 14 23:45:18 2012 +++ video_sdl.c...

There are three major variants of Chinese (Beijing Mandarin, Taiwan Mandarin, Cantonese) and these are equally hard for non-native speakers I think.

What gcc version you used in your Windows build? Is it cross-built or built natively on Windows?
In my experience building on Windows, only the older Mingw 3.4.5 will build a working copy, I cannot build a Sheepshaver that doesn't crash on booting with TDM-4.3.3, Mingw official 4.4.0 and 4.5.1.

Recommendation for Sheepshaver users
1. Prepare working Mini vMac and Basilisk II environment. Sheepshaver is known to have more incompatibilities in Extensions and applications. When your Sheepshaver system image cease to boot or some older applications crash in Sheepshaver you could use Mini vMac or Basilisk II environment for troubl...

ResEdit the "System" file and remove the "xboo" resource, then it will stop complaining not running on CD-ROM.

Re: SheepShaver for Windows
"make links" does not work without a working ln command.
I have to copy BII's files manually one by one in order to build SS in my environment.
I think a better solution would be merging Basilisk II and Sheepshaver into one unified source tree with different build scripts.

Cat_7,
Could you post a copy of the latest CVS code with Basilisk source files combined? SS's configure cannot combine them for me as for some reason Mingw's ln command doesn't work in my environment.

Although Mini vMac wx86 (without assembly code) will build in an x64 compiler chain, the Windows x64 only became an official supported architecture in Mini vMac 3.2.3 beta.
