Undumped Mac ROMs
While I understand this site does not allow links to ROMs, it's still worth noting for preservation purposes that several Macs don't have ROMs dumped.
These include, but are not limited to:
* Twentieth Anniversary Macintosh (codename Spartacus)
* PowerBook 2400c (codename Comet)
* PowerBook 3400c (codename Hooper)
* Power Mac 4400 (codename Tanzania)
* Power Mac 5260 (unknown codename)

* PowerBook 2400c (codename Comet)
* PowerBook 3400c (codename Hooper)

Re: Undumped Mac ROMs
Worth comparing things to this list:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... =840977089
That list indicates there's also missing ROMs for variants of:
Macintosh XL
Lisa II
Mac IIvx
Mac IIx / IIxi
The 5260, I'm pretty sure, used ROM MD5 f841c66c2e94bf1872959fed0d69cc65 (Apple xsum 63ABFD3F).

From that list:
1997-01-01 58F03416 8547e4ba18bdd6d2c9e552802173fdc5 Motorola 4400 “Cupid”/7220 ”Tanzania” 7.5.3(SE827)-9.1, not 7.5.5 32-160M 4M PowerPC 603e Cupid/Tanzania
Let me know if you're still looking for it; Sentient06 and I both have it.

Re: Undumped Mac ROMs
This should help:
https://everymac.com/ultimate-mac-looku ... eywords=41 -- all those Macs share the same ROM, and it includes the 5260 series as well as the 5200 series -- so the MD5 I posted is the correct one.

Re: Undumped Mac ROMs
So... here's the missing ROMs:
* Twentieth Anniversary Macintosh (codename Spartacus) - the PowerMac 5500 ROM - a dump from any PM5500 or TAM would work. I've got the same file hash listed for the PM 6500 ROM that others have listed as the 5500. I think it was a typo though, and we're still missing the 5500, as the Gestalt ID is different.
* PowerBook 2400c (codename Comet) - uses PowerBook 2400 ROM: b00e5ea090e0627c01930fd2f0ceffcd
* PowerBook 3400c (codename Hooper) - possibly also uses the PowerBook 2400 ROM, but the gestalt ID is different. These two probably need fresh dumps just to be sure what's what.

Re: Undumped Mac ROMs
Confirmed via multiple sources that the 2400c uses the 2400/3400 ROM already dumped. Suspect that the 3400c also uses it, but this is not yet verified.

Re: Undumped Mac ROMs
The thing is I can't find the 2400 or 3400 ROM anywhere. I looked in all the available collections and neither of them appeared, hence why I listed those as missing.

Re: Undumped Mac ROMs
They've been added to MG now; odd -- I don't find them in the MacROMan test collection. If you can't find them, let me know; I'm going to see if I can locate my copies too.

Re: Undumped Mac ROMs
The good news is that I found someone with a TAM.
The bad news is that the ROM would not dump properly - it would dump the 68k portion of the ROM (the first 3 MB of 4 MB), but not the PPC portion (the last MB).
The results were as follows:

The results were as follows:
GetROM - didn't work
CopyRom - outputted 3MB (68k portion)
Rom Grabber - correct ROM size, but just repeated 0x00 to 0xFF ad nauseam
ROMmie - Could not test

Re: Undumped Mac ROMs
Yes, this is the problem we've had in the past. It's possible we need to update one of the dumpers to specifically grab the PPC chunk of the TAM ROM, as it doesn't appear to follow the regular format. Using Macsbug to dump it might actually be easier.kataetheweirdo wrote: ↑Mon Oct 26, 2020 12:21 am The good news is that I found someone with a TAM.

Re: Undumped Mac ROMs
I found a very competent ROM dumper. This particular dumper actually runs within a UNIX environment, which itself runs on classic Mac OS. We tested it out on a TAM and was able to dump the ROM properly.

That's great news! Would you please update https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... Dk7QDyKPY/ with the results?kataetheweirdo wrote: ↑Tue Oct 27, 2020 2:36 am I found a very competent ROM dumper.
