Anyone on MAE?

Anything about Mac emulation that does not belong in the above categories.

Anyone on MAE?

Post by 24bit »

Hi,
is anybody here using Macintosh Application Environment 3 for Unix?
And if so, which Linux distros are going to support it?

I am quite happy with SS, SS seems to make use of almost 100% of my dual core cpu right now.
Still, if there is another approach to Classic possible, I certainly would like to see it running.

It's unlikely that it will be supported by a modern GNU+Linux system or any UNIX for that matter. It requires a SPARC processor and the binary was designed for Solaris. If we had the source code there may have been a chance. As it stands I don't see how.

You could still try WINUAE+Shapeshifter as I mentioned before.

Many thanks for clarifying about SUN.
I was just curious about that.

Apparently you can emulate Solaris for SPARC, actually.

Qemu has SPARK systems listed in its emulated hardware list as well.
Someone sure did try already.

Well, if you are going to use QEMU, then you be better off trying Mac-On-Linux in a low usage PowerPC GNU+Linux port.
