What works witha pc or laptop?

I've wanted to play some old mac games for a while now but don't have an old mac or the money for one. Not sure where to get a ROM legally. I have StuffIt on my laptop (for windows) and not much else. Can I download .sit games and what emulator should I use? Is using a mac emulator possible on a pc or hp laptop. I hardy remember any computer stuff before 2005 so be easy on me.
