Hi, I have a 20GB Ezquest Cobra HD. I used it on a Mac G4 for audio edition. The problem is that I don't have any Mac anymore... :?

I have installed Basilisk IIJIT with Mac OS 7.5.5 and it works fine. The problem is that when I try to access the drive in Windows it asks me if I want to format it. When I use Basilisk, it shows an empty drive...

Is there something I can do? (Apart from buying a Mac)

HFV Explorer might be able to see the contents..

Or you can buy MacDrive which lets you use mac drives in Windows.

Thanks Citon for your answer. Sorry I didn't reply before.

Unfortunately HFV Explorer didn't work. I guess I'll check MacDrive then!

Happy 2004!

Try Linux!
Newer versions of Linux all support ieee1394, HFS+ filesystems, and Mac partition tables.

I've played with Linux a couple of times, but I'm far from being comfortable with it. I don't have anything to lose though, so I'll plug it in a Red Hat 8 system I have and pray for it to work... Let's hope it recognizes both the firewire card and the HD..

That's great information, thanks!

If you used Mac OS X, you should install OS 8.1 on the Basilisk II and then you can read the drive as 8.1 supports HFS + which is what Mac OS X uses by default. (Also 8.x,9.x uses HFS +)
