Problems Installing a Game onto Sheep Shaver

Post by Hawkgal »

Im having difficulty being able to install a game i've downloaded from Macintosh Repository. When I click the installer, it says "temporary file cannot be created on you start up disk. Disk might be locked, or it might be too full."

Please explain to me in simple terms as I am not overly tech savvy

Thank you

Your "startup disk" is the virtual HD within SheepShaver. Maybe you did not do a proper full MacOS installation in SheepShaver but instead use a pre-installed system like the OS9 image from Redundant Robot and have that image file locked on the host?

(When you ask for support, please always add information about which host system, which SheepShaver version/build, which installed system version in SheepShaver.)

I completely followed this tutorial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZBekps7O3cc
downloading all these programs.

Sheep Shaver is Version 2.5, 11 July 2018, 64-bit only

ROM is New World PPC ROM from redundant robot

and Apple Mac OS 9.0.4 (ISO)

Does this help at all?

Did you actually install MacOS 9.0.4 onto a new blank disk image?
Installing things onto a CD-ROM (image) never worked, regardless of the OS in use.
(Don´t want to hurt your feelings, just had to ask the obvious. ;) )
