I a trying to run a software called Music Mouse (http://retiary.org/ls/programs.html) on Sheepshaver from a windows computer. I have tried to drag the file through StuffIt, but the file is not recognizable. How can I do it?
Thanks for the help in advance

Great finding of such a beautiful retro site.

Basically you want to inflate all "naked" Mac files on a Mac (emulator) with StuffitExpander.
The apps are useless otherwise as the Mac resource forks are lost.

To get going for now, feel free to try this: https://www.magentacloud.de/lnk/2cYMpbWP
The files are re-packaged in a zipped .img container.
Unzip and add the .img to your SheepShaver volumes tab.
This version of Music Mouse is 68k coded, so it should work with Basilisk II and MiniVMac just the same.

Maybe you could ask the author nicely about an unlock code?
Kagi is down for some years meanwhile, as you will know.

Edit 1:
Neither SheepShaver nor Basilisk II do work with Music Mouse on my side.
What does work, however is MiniVMac II.
Moving the Mouse in the app Window does play some tunes.
Note that Output has be set to Quicktime - default is MIDI.
The app window has to look like this to generate sound:

Edit 2:
Seems like MiniVMac ii is the only way to play MusicMouse for me.
That would make sense, as the Mac II was among the first Macs to support Quicktime.
Anyway, MiniVMac emulating the Mac Plus can not play MusicMouse as QuickTime can not be used on it.

Found a (outdated) MiniVMac II app for Windows you may try.
(If you find MiniVMac useful please consider donating to Paul C. Pratt who is maintaining the app.)

Inflate the 7z file with 7Zip.
In the folder you got, double click minivmac_27-24.exe.
A window is opened.
Drag MacII_HD75.dsk onto that white Window with blinking question mark.
The MacOS is starting…
In the lower right corner find the Launcher window with MusicMouse on the left side.
Click once on the MusicMouse pictogram and click OK in the app window opening.
You should see this:

Press C to continue.
This is a non fatal error, presumably the app is trying to open the Macs MIDI port.
MIDI is not emulated in MiniVMac or in any other Mac emulator I´m aware of.

Click continue to start MusicMouse.
Be sure to set Output to QuickTime Music Architecture.
The app will remain silent otherwise.

Here is the link to the full package: https://www.magentacloud.de/lnk/LL4sJyo8

You do not need Music Mouse 2.1.2 Demo.img or System6.img right now.
If you should want to build your own (old) MiniVMac flavours with Microsoft Visual Studio,
the needed app is included in System6.img. The folder is named MnvM_b35.

May I present to you... viewtopic.php?f=7&t=10420

As of this month, Mini vMac supports MIDI in a custom build. The timing still has some jitters, but for audio output, it should work pretty well. PCE/Macplus also supports some basic MIDI features via serial out, but doesn't handle a full implementation (bidirectional clock sync, etc.)

Yeah MIDI, many will be eager for a working setup I suppose. ;)

As for MusicMouse, the other DL for Classic is working with SheepShaver, OldWorldROM, MacOS 9.0.4.

No absolute need to dig out MiniVMac II. :)
