Installing a MacOS 9 hard disk game how to proceed ?

Post by Sebiohazard »

Good morning all !

I installed Flashback CD on MacOS 9 following these instructions but I have two questions:

1. On MacintoshGarden they say you can not install it with the installer & it's true. They say you have to use Disk Copy but I do not know how to proceed ?

2. I slid moved the Flashback CD folder to the desktop but now it is no longer present on the why CD-ROM ? This will modify the ISO file mounted in Sheepshaver ?! How to install this game cleanly on the hard drive ?

Image

Thanks best regards !

The procedure as posted at MG seems to be this:
Move the .SIT file via "This PC" to your Macs HDD - not to the desktop.
Unstuff the .SIT with StuffitExpander.
Mount the resulting .IMG with DiskCopy 6.
DiskCopy 6 is not included with MacOS but you can find it at Macintoshgarden.
Run DiskCopy.
Choose - Image - Activate - from the DiskCopy 6 menu (Command-M).
From the mounted .IMG, copy the Flashback™ CD-ROM folder to the Macs HDD - not to the desktop.

As you already managed to mount the .IMG with SheepShaver, dragging the Flashback™ CD-ROM folder to the emulated Macs HDD may do just the same, I suppose.
