So I installed Sheepshaver, used an Old World ROM, and installed OS9.0.4. It seems to run just fine. But in order to do all that, I found that the Sheepshaver app would only open from right clicking the app >show contents >Mac OS >Click on the unix exec file for Sheepshaver. The terminal window reads:
MacPros-Mac-Pro:~ macpro$ /Users/macpro/SheepShaver/SheepShaver.app/Contents/MacOS/SheepShaver ; exit;

Can this be corrected so Sheepshaver will launch directly from its icon?

SheepShaver should open normally when you double click the icon. You may see a security feature in action that was introduced in Sierra.
Try this:
- Copy the SheepShaver application (only the application itself) to a different location like your desktop.
- Trash the original application
- Move the copy back to where the original was.
