Cursor problem

Hi,
I have recently gotten SS up and running with both OS 9 and 7.5.3 (not simultaneously). Everything seems to be working fine, except that when I open a game (the reason I installed SS in the first place), the cursor stops functioning.
Game: Zork Nemesis.
Specific problem: It opens to the splash screen with the options "Restore Game" "New Game" and "Quit". The cursor changes to the game-specific cursor (just the look), and it highlights over any and all of the three options (turns from white to yellow). However, clicking on any of the options doesn't do anything--no "click" noise, no graphical indication that I've clicked, and, nothing happens. Very sad. Any thoughts?
