Post by huntedsnake »

Can someone please send me the SheepShaver binary for Pentium4 or x86 compiled from the latest CVS !!! I will deeply appreciate it. Send it to "imran@getgroup.com". OR upload it somewhere and give me the link. Thanks in advance.

If you want SheepShaver to be optimized for your system, compile it on your own. The compiling guide is located in this SheepShaver forum.

This weekend I'll provide some generic x86 compiled binaries. I've been real busy with work and some outside consulting, but this weekend (most likely sunday), I'll come up with some binary packages. Clockwise, I may just take you up on that offer for webspace.

Shoot me a PM, shadowfox. Or an e-mail (mgoodine@gmail.com). I can set you up with a subdomain and an FTP login.

Thanks people, but now i installed all the development libraries and compiled the source myself. I also installed Mac OS 9.0 and its working !!! I will upload the binary to my website so that others can get it easily. I tried upgrading to Mac OS 9.1 but its giving me the same message which ShadowFox mentioned previously.

I just want SheepShaver to be compatible with 9.2.2 so that we can run the majority of applications like MSN Messenger, new Adobe Photoshop etc.

@ShadowFox:

Did you compile the Windows binaries you were talking about? I'm deeply interested in trying them (the CoLinux method doesn't work for me anyway).

windows?

Post by Cat_7 »

There is no talk of a windows binary here, just read: as of the post of cyman, who probably didn't understand the difference between x86 as architecture and windows as just another x86 OS, there was only speak of a x86 binary

So x86 doesn't automatically means windows....

Here's talk of a Windows binary. That's what I was commenting about...

Well this was my bad. I was misreading or better, my brain produced an error linking x86 to Windows. Of course this is not the same - which is not a reason for you (@Cat_7) to deny my PC knowledge at all!

Hi Cyman,

I wasn't trying to deny you any pc knowledge
I just thought your remark was produce of some wishfull thinking.
As I am dutch, and english is not my first language, I am bound to miss some of the finesses of your language and make things "sound" less nice then were supposed to be.

I stand corrected!

Best,

Cat_7

ps: cat_7 also hopes for a windows binary someday...
