8.1 Disk Tools on SheepShaver

Post by SchififtyFive.5 »

Using the Mac OS ROM from the Apple site, the Disk Tools 8.1 from the Apple site and SheepShaver, I can't boot the disk. The windows version gives me the disk with the question mark in the center and the linux version just sits there and doesn't do anything. What do I do about this?

OS 8.1 will not work with a new world ROM (i.e. the one you used). You should get a newer version, or and old world ROM.

Also note the the Windows port of SheepShaver doesn't currently support any Mac OS under 8.5. The Linux version does though (OS 7.5.2 to 8.1 with certain Old World ROMs).

OK I have a copy of Disk Tools 8.5 too. I tried that on both and the same thing happened. Any suggestions?

Please post the contents of your SheepShaver_prefs file. Someone might see a configuration error in it.
