OS drive icon
I just installed OS 9 and noticed that the hard drive icon was different from the standared OS 9 hard drive icon. How can I change it
Hi,
If the icon is not correct, you can
-select the drive,
-choose Get Info in the File menu,
-select the icon and
-paste a correct one in there.
That is, if you can copy an icon from some drive that does show up correctly.
You might want to consider to reinstall as well, I have not heard of this problem before.
What host OS and sheepshaver version are you using?
Best wishes,
Cat_&

In SheepShaver you will not see a 'true' hard disk icon because the 'disk' is not a hard disk and is seen by the OS as a large floppy disk rather than a hard disk. The disk/volume icons you see on the desktop are provided by SheepShaver and indeed look like System 7 hard disk icons.
You can paste a custom icon that looks like a MacOS 8/9 hard disk icon if you do not like the SheepShaver volume icon.

I saved a MacOS 8 hard disk icon years ago, pasted on a folder. You can download it here:
