Nisus and Acrobat woes

Post by blindcorpse »

Elsewhere on this forum there are reports that Nisus and Acrobat 5.0 (not just the reader, but the full version) work OK under SheepShaver. I'm having trouble printing files to PDF from Nisus -- a two-step process, of first printing to a postscript file and then using Acrobat Distiller to make a PDF out of that. Sometimes it works, but just as often SheepShaver crashes during one step or the other. Any suggestions?

In fact, saving files in anything but Nisus format is a bummer:

Saving from Nisus 5.1 to RTF crashes SheepShaver, without saving the file.
Saving from Nisus 5.1 to Word 5 or 6 brings up the message, "unable to load XTND translator," and the file is not saved. Or, it crashes SheepShaver.

(I am using Mac OS 9.0.4.)

thanks in advance for your help!

It is not a direct answer to your question, but have you tried printing to PDF using "PrintToPDF"? It is a simple one-step process and it should work fine for most (text) documents.
