Floppy disk images vs CD image

Post by Evertype »

Is it possible to install System 7.5.x into SheepShaver via System 7 disk images rather than from a CD image?

I don't have a bootable CD though the 19 parts of 7.5.3 on Apple's site do combine to form a single folder. I did that in OS 9 on SheepShaver...

Hi,

We described that case here:
http://www.emaculation.com/doku.php/she ... ge_of_a_cd

Then follow this guide:
http://www.emaculation.com/doku.php/bas ... _osx_setup

The two main issues are: you must use the disk image linked in the guide to boot SheepShaver, otherwise the shared folder will not be available and you must use an "old world rom". After you got these two covered, you can follow the basilisk installation guide I linked to above. Setup for both systems is very similar. However, if you are on OSX you need to use the built-in preferences editor, not the editor shown in the guide.

The rom might be found by searching the redundant robot website.

Best,
