Post by 0mediamaster »

When I try to run sheepshaver in Wine under Ubuntu I get an error message saying "Canot map first Kernel Data area: 487" I have the GTK think installed. How can I make it work?

Why in Wine? There is a stable Linux version.

I keep getting the same error with Vista, and nothing anyone has suggested seems to work. I can't run in any compatibility mode, I disabled everything using msconfig, still no go. It has to be Vista related as opposed to hardware related since I ran Sheepshaver on the same system with XP before going to Vista. Basilisk works fine.

what version of vista you running? I had that problem in my set up (64 bit version) and resolved the data error with the correct rom path with having the rom name in the end of the path.. eg:

rom C:\Program Files\SheepShaver\rom file\rom.ROM
