Tie Fighter CD mounting as floppy.

About SheepShaver, a PPC Mac emulator for Windows, MacOS X, and Linux that can run System 7.5.3 to MacOS 9.0.4.

Tie Fighter CD mounting as floppy.

Post by Monster_user »

I've got a Tie Fighter CD for MacOS 8, and I don't really want to keep having to plug in my B&W G3 just to play this game. So, SheepShaver. Unfortunately, whenever I put the disc into Sheepshaver it mounts it as a floppy disk. Tie Fighter does not detect it because of this.

Does anybody have any recommendations for getting Tie Fighter running via emulation?

Hi,

You could try to make a disk image of the disk with Disk Utility and add the image to the volumes list in the sheepshaver preferences editor.

That seems to only work 30% of the time. I'm running SheepShaver on Windows Vista, and I've created an ISO of Tie Fighter.

This utility is pretty good in mounting images, if you dont mind copying and mounting it from the SS volume:
