ROM extraction of actual hardware

Post by Westledgeview »

I am trying to install Sheepshaver on Windows XP. I would like to extract a ROM images from actual PPC-G3 and PPG-G4 computers that I have. The ROM extraction instruction with the Sheepshaver do not appear to cover this particular situation. Any info out there as to how to proceed with this?

be well, WLV

I do not know if roms extracted from your machines would work reliably with SheepShaver and I only know of software (CopyROM and GetROM) that can extract roms from 68k machines.

Better simply do what most people do: Search for Redundant Robot and download the appropriate rom file, the new world rom file for MacOS 8.5 through 9.0.5, the old world rom file for System 7.5.3 through MacOS 8.1.

Sheepshaver cannot use any ROM from any Newworld G3s or G4s as their ROMs don't contain Mac OS ROM part.
