i downloaded the 8.6 rom file from their site, tried to extract it using tomeviewer on basilisk, but when it extracts the tome, its only half of what it should be, what gives?

Is it 1.9 megs? That's okay. Try it out and see.

no it didnt work, it no longer says invalid ROM, but when i start it it looks for a disk in the floppy drive, and then does nothing, would it have anything to to with the hfv file im using? should i make a mac floppy boot disk or something, and try running the OS off of it?

Is the extension right? It really ought to be .rom

Next time I get a few free minutes, I wanna write a step-by-step guide. I'm convinced that the people who get an error are messing something up.

But since I've only done it twice, I couldn't say what that is.

the file i extracted was simply called Mac ROM, nothing else, and it was at 1.9 megs

Do you mean it had the EXTENSION ".ROM"

It better. Maybe you can rename it something.ROM. Try that.

ok i did that, and now its telling me that it requires the proper 4MB PCI ROM, i checked the checksum on it, and it is not the same, so it wouldnt work with the file that tomeviewer get me, ugh this is so frustrating...lol i wish some1 would just host the file! 8)
