Can't run Classilla in SS

A few days ago I finally managed to power on Mac OS 9 through SS on W10 including internet connection.
I did manage to run iCab and open an internet page, but Classilla is more updated so I wanted to run it instead.
I opened the latest .sit file and it created a folder.
But when I tried to power the program on, it says there isn't enough memory (zero K needed, 457,766 avilable).
It happens also in the older versions and I can't seem to find the problem.

That's unfortunate
How much memory have you given Mac OS in SheepShaver? I normally run with 512 MB. Classilla runs just fine. Program info says it needs 82070 Kb.

Do you have a full Mac OS 9 installation?

I have given Mac OS 9 512MB and I do believe I have a full installation of the OS, and no program so far has had problems (AOL 1.0-5.0, Acrobat Reader).

I use the New World rom with 9.0.4.

Will a screenshot of the error help?

I don't think a screen shot helps.
I see only one entry in your prefs that looks a bit odd.
Normally one would see something like:

"screen win/1024/768" instead of your "screen dga/1367/768"

I would also set:
"ignoreillegal false" to true
"ignoresegv false" to true

It's just my laptop's screen resoulotion, so I set it as that. I don't know what that dga is but there aren't any problems with the resoulotion.

I changed what you said, and I still can't run Classilla.

Hi,

Does this help you? it mentions not running Classilla from the My Computer drive and not decompressing it on the My Computer drive. If you downloaded Classilla in Windows, make sure you move the classilla archive onto your Mac OS hard disk (not to the desktop!) before decompressing.

Yes, this was indeed the problem! Now Classilla is running fine and the icon is showing up, while in My Computer there was a picture of a text file.

It will be best if it was mentioned somewhere in a document, rather in Classilla's site or the excellent wiki here, so for newbies it could speed up the process. Thanks for all the help!
(P.S; I just saw that I was going through that post earlier, but didn't quite understand what was the fix...)

I had the same problem-o ag-o! (ALSO solved by E-maculation Forums)
But, here is aother problem:
When I go to "Winworldpc.com/library/*" on Clasilla latest ver (* means any page) and I press enter for 3 times, SheepShaver.exe crashes. Is this just my computer, or are you haveing this problem-o to?

Isn't this true for all applications? Do not expand, nor run from "My Computer" (in Windows) or from "Unix" (in OSX and Linux). Always first move (copy) to a disk in the emulator.

Nope, AOL 1.0-5.0, iCab, ClarisWorks 5 and Acrobat Reader all ran fine when expading from "My Computer".

As for Po Lu, I didn't really understand the problem. If you are trying to download from the emulator, maybe download it from your actual OS and then copy it to the VM disk.
