Hello
I am admirative about the great job made for SheepShaver SW and I know how many development days it means
It works quite fine on my PowerBook (mid_2012) running under OsX El Capitan
In OS9, I have old images (.img files) from "le club pomme" that require to get diskette to run for a while
on my old mac, i got images of the original diskettes (1.44 Mb) and I opened it with the system as a real diskette and the program could then run again for a while.
These .img file cannot be opened under ShepShavr because of lack of the application required (it seems to me that it is Apple HD utility for OS9 that could do so)
Does someone on this site have such SW to send to me, ?
Thanks a lot

These can be mounted with Disk Copy. It's likely that they just had their file type and creator codes removed along the way. Open Disk Copy and navigate to the files, and you should be able to open/mount them from within OS 9.

Do you see a Floppy Disk on a piece of paper as the icon?
If not, then you have to use a program to change the file type.
I recommend FileType.
Here's the codes to program the file for. If it still doesn't work, I need more info.
Creator: [ddsk] Type: [rohd]

Hi
FileCopy works fine thank you
But FileType need Carbonlib 1.1 or later, but I don't have it in my OS9 system
May I get this extension Carbonlib 1.1
Was it available under OS8 or OS 8.5 ?
Thanks to all

You should have CarbonLib 1.3 or later under OS 9; if you don't, I'd guess you don't have a full install of OS 9, but a stripped down version.
But as I stated, you don't actually need it; you should be able to open the disk image from within Disk Copy; it's just the Finder that needs the file type and creator set correctly.
And if FileType isn't working correctly for you, I'd suggest getting a copy of ResEdit, as that will not only let you change the file type and creator, but fix up any other resource issues you may have in the future.
