An Error I Don't Know About

Post by Babies »

I've been trying to run Mac OS 9 in Sheepshaver, and I've done everything the guide tells me to do, but after pressing start, it shows an error that reads: "Cannot map SheepShaver Data area: No error." The program doesn't run after this, and I don't know why. Does anyone else have this problem? How can you fix it?

Please be more specific about your setup:
- Which host system?
- Which rom file?
- What kind of OS9 (install disk or pre-installed, and where did you get it?
- How much RAM did you give SheepShaver?

Host system: Windows 7
Rom File: The New World ROM download off of Redundant Robot in the Sheepshaver tutorial section.
The boot image of OS9 off the same website. That's the only download for it they had.
RAM: 512 Mbs.

Lower RAM for SheepShaver. 128MB is sufficient for most uses, 256MB is probably more than you will need, 512MB is too much.

If the issue persists, try starting SheepShaver after a fresh restart of the host computer.
