I Installed OS 8.5, then Custom removed Quicktime 2.
Installed Quicktime 4.1.2.
Installed Wolfenstein 3D, Journeyman and Monty Python’s Complete Waste of Time.
Did not allow installs of earlier versions of quicktime.
These 3 games are completely playable running Sheepshaver 2014 under Snow Leopard.
When ported to High sierra, Quicktime-dependent programs lock up after a couple of minutes,
requiring a force-quit of Sheepshaver.
This pertains to all 3 programs I have tried:
Wolfenstein 3D,
Monty Python’s complete Waste of Time,
Journeyman Project 3.
This happens on both my 2011 MacBook Pro, and my new 2017 MacBook Pro, both running High Sierra.
Has anyone else run into similar problems? Is there a Solution?
Thanks -Will

Re: Quicktime 4.1.2 Locks up when running under High Sierra
I don't tend to run QT-dependent software all that much, and haven't used 8.5 since Apple released 8.6, so I won't be much help there.Will-CA wrote: This happens on both my 2011 MacBook Pro, and my new 2017 MacBook Pro, both running High Sierra.

What hardware are you running 10.6 on?
Re: Quicktime 4.1.2 Locks up when running under High Sierra
Yes, Shepshaver 2014, running Quicktime 4.1.2. under Snow Leopard.
I directly moved the OS8.5.dsk into the High Sierra partition from the Snow leopard partition
and there in High Sirera encounterd the lockups.
I am using OS8.5 because the OS 8.6 upgrade installs quicktime to QT2. with OS8.5 I have the option
to remove _all_ the quicktime 2 files, which makes QT4.1.2 run better.
